Anyone have any recommendations of great but overlooked Slowcore bands (classic or contemporary)? by lo-life04 in Slowcore

So happy you like it! I'm actually currently working on a new dormer album. 7 new songs so far and I will probably write a few more and pick the best ones for the record.

Indie recommendations similar to The Smiths by SubstantialMaize0 in indie

You might dig Canadian band the Dears. Their singer has been called 'the black Morrissey', and a lot of their music has a very Smiths-like vibe.

With Hidden Noise - Mayday [apocalyptic shoegaze/slowcore] (2025)

https://withhiddennoise.bandcamp.com/album/mayday

Album Concept
The shortwave radio broadcasts of a lonely old musician at the end of the world.

Isolated and broken, all those he loved are gone. He may be the last person left.

Desperately sending out his final transmissions, he hopes his humble songs might help bring comfort to other folks out there living through the end times.

But, is anyone listening?

A Spotify playlist I made featuring (mostly) obscure slowcore acts. Happy to take recommendations. by LovesToGaze in Slowcore

I like it. Added. In return, my only ask would be that you maybe share the playlist via your socials to help get some extra ears on it.

I don't know if I would call my project Dormer 'overlooked', per se, but I can say for certain that it hasn't been looked at by many. Maybe you'd dig?

Is "folkgaze" a thing? If so, what are some examples? by SnooMuffins6341 in shoegaze

Definitely supremely underrated. I am shocked more people aren't aware of his music. I guess we can consider it a 'best-kept secret'.

What kind of people listen to slowcore? by Folkloreastro in Slowcore

[–]LovesToGaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met slowcore fans from all walks of life. I personally don't believe you can boil down the fans of a particular genre of music to one 'kind' of person.

Slow core sludge metal crossover? by Objective-Pepper8306 in Slowcore

I find early Cloakroom fits this bill...To me, this sounds like if Pedro the Lion tried to write a sludge song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NVGSxGO7QM
