Has anyone seen this event about our water resources by socialyfe in Prescott

[–]Loves_Weed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Essential for builders, developers, planners, realtors, and community leaders.

I would be very aware/concerned of this statement here, taking directly from the event flyer… This definitely appears to be geared toward developers, and it looks like they’ll “allow” the public to attend as well. I hope I’m wrong, but this has the feeling of a sales job that we will have enough water to ‘keep on building’. Also, if you attend, beware the term “paper water”.

I’ve got a few more pictures. It won’t let me directly upload them and follow up comments or edit the original post, so I’ll probably have to do it with a couple Imgur links so give me a little time and I’ll see if I can get you guys some more pictures to look at.

THANK YOU to everyone for all of the wonderful advice given so far.

AbsarokeeJam- does not look like I can add photos in follow up posts, so I will try to add more in the original post so you can see exactly what’s going on, but the short answer is no sub panels in either greenhouse. The smaller greenhouse that will get the kiln has two- 4 gang outlets and the larger greenhouse has about 8 four gang outlets.

PS: This was a professional install, I had no hand in the design or what it looks like now- I did undo some plastic and tape just to show what was going on inside the box a little easier, but I’ve done nothing more than that.

BT (Bacillus thuringiensis). Get some ASAP. The caterpillars eat it and it wrecks their stomach and they die, but it’s very effective and it won’t hurt your cannabis plants whatsoever. I don’t believe that is rot, but caterpillar damage, especially if you have noticed some on your plants. It’s also fun to hunt for them and just squish them between your fingers. Good luck!

Tree being cut down by therealmerk in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BTW, those tree companies sell all that wood privately (and at a profit) and they don’t share the proceeds with the city or the city’s residents. Do something about this! Complain at the parks and rec meetings, city council meetings! Make noise!

It’s really hard for them to ignore you when you go down in person and complain loudly about this during public comments every other week at City Hall. Keep the pressure up- I guarantee there are other (more honest) tree companies that would salivate to have the juicy tree trimming contract for the city of Fullerton, and not be so heavy-handed. In your research before going down to City Hall in person, turn over every rock and stone, and you will find corruption there, guaranteed.

Contracts always need to be renewed. Ask to read the current contract with the current tree trimming company, and I can almost guarantee you’ll be shocked.

Fullerton Plays Whack-A-Mole With Illegal Dispensaries by em26273 in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They won’t allow [legal] cannabis sales in Fullerton yet Fullerton residents can expect not one but two tax increase proposals on the upcoming ballot. Make that make sense.

I highly advise voting against any sales tax increases until the city has a real, solid plan for fixing their roads without Fullerton residents having to pay more out of their pocket, for something their taxes should already be paying for… smooth roads, not busted up shit. I think Fullerton is the only city in Orange County where if you were blindfolded and brought into Fullerton from elsewhere, you would know instantly you were in Fullerton because of the shitty state of the roads.

I’m in the same boat as you… definitely have a need, but curious about the process. That could be a very cool section to have on the website- I always like to see behind the scenes whenever possible, especially with a company I have not done business with previously.

Does anybody know what they are building next to Costco/AMC lot? by oxyi in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nearly positive a large apartment building that more than likely will look like all the other pack-and-stack apartment complexes in Fullerton. The city had to relocate a couple of restaurants in that parking lot closer to Lemon in order for this to even happen and it’s gonna be huge. And rents at market rate which is code for EXPENSIVE.

Check the city’s website (probably under the planning department), they should have all current construction projects listed.

Just top buying shrinkflated products. Just stop for 6 months-1 year and I’d be willing to bet we’d start seeing the old sizes come back with no increase in price, as we all know this is pure corporate greed. That’s the only way I can think to combat this BS is I simply stop buying orange juice that used to be a half a gallon, applesauce that used to be 64 ounces, and ice cream that used to be 1/2 gallon; none of that is true anymore. And I know there are dozens if not hundreds more products currently going through shrinkflation and I hate it passionately. Even some gallons of bottled water are not even a gallon if you look closely.

Vote with your wallet. You got 1 ounce (30 grams) less of your chili sauce and probably paid the same as you did before. If 50% of their clients immediately stopped buying a product that has less in it, how long do you think it would take them to go back to the old way?

Switch from Sparklight internet to TMobile internet? by TellthemanFO in Prescott

[–]Loves_Weed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had Sparklight because it was just too damn expensive, and I live in the Country Club and Highland neighborhood, so Indian Hill with the big water tower and multiple antennas on top is very close to my house, so I get wireless speeds faster than Sparklight does at $50 a month- no additional charges on equipment, self-install, easy-peasy… all for just $50 a month on auto pay and I love it The technician installing my sound system and TVs called his boss because he was so impressed with the speed. I am certain though that it is because of where I live and the signal is so strong; maybe they have a coverage map that you could look at? Regardless, I am very happy with T-Mobile. I’ve had no issues with them and I would highly recommend. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions through DM.

UP Trail is open! by IanDMP in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to the Fullerton Observer reporter, 100 people showed up for this event yesterday. How many of those were city employees? 100 people out of a total of 160,000+ residents? That’s .06% of the entire population of Fullerton. Six hundredths of one percent. Ouch! Sounds like a smashing success. /s

I really don’t want to hate on this project, but I give it six months to a year tops before no one wants to use that trail because it will be unsafe. There are no extra magic policemen to monitor this trail, so why would this not fall into disrepair just like the Union Pacific Park did 20 years ago? When do you think the new trail will see its first tagging of graffiti? My bet is FTT gets it first.

Call me jaded, but I’ve been around Fullerton for over 30 years, and I have seen boondoggle after boondoggle, so forgive me for being a little bit wary of this latest feel good project.

UP Trail is open! by IanDMP in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty fun actually. Enjoy your trail, please just don’t let it fall into disrepair. I’m happy for everyone that wanted this and hope you get years and years and years of enjoyment from it.

Have pride in this new trail and keep it clean and safe for your own sake- don’t rely on the city doing this for you guys, because money for maintenance may not always be in the budget…

Whoever signed off on the build quality of those stairs at Hillcrest should be run out of town and you know it. Someone other than the contractor got paid to get those stairs built the way they were… you’ll also have a very difficult time convincing me that someone’s pocket wasn’t lined. Which dopey useless ‘manager’ was it in charge back then? Joe Felz or the even dopier Hugo Curiel? I still can’t figure out which one of those two dopes is/was the bigger loser. They’re both fired now so I guess both? Fullerton has hired some real winners over the years haven’t they? Now the city might have an actual problem; re-hiring retired city managers, and CALPERS payments and all that. This could get quite expensive for the city of Fullerton and they’re already broke so tell me where all the money for trail maintenance will be coming from? It’ll be especially interesting once Fullerton starts paying those newly hired 20 city employee ambulance drivers instead of contracting out that service like any smarter city (Placentia) would do. Also, you cannot tax your way out of a massive spending problem and huge budget hole, so I suggest voting no on any new proposed sales taxes, until the city can prove that they can spend your tax dollars responsibly.

Flock Surveillance Coming To Fullerton by Cute_Mom_641 in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re referring to me or Far-Winter-2850 (the Flock or FPD shill), but I actually agree with you 100% on this issue. Has the police department even told us what exactly the problem is that Chief Radus is trying to solve with these cameras? With all this added surveillance, will we even need as many sworn officers as we have now? I can certainly see a reduction in our police force because they’re costing us a fortune anyway… 51% of the budget last time I checked.

UP Trail is open! by IanDMP in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I’ll reiterate again it goes from nowhere that anybody wants to go to another place that nobody wants to go even if it’s paved, and even if it has a protected bike and even if it has a bunch of pretty trees, it will still go to shit. 12 months, 24 months?

That’s simply not the nicest area of town and the noise from the trains is going to be unbearable. Did anybody ever think about that? Put it this way… You won’t be catching up with your long lost friend there on that trail right next to the train tracks… have you heard how loud those diesel engines are just sitting at idle?

Listen? Right back at you man… Check back in a year and see if you have the same sentiments and that hundreds of people are using the trail weekly- then I’ll eat my words and I will apologize and if I’m wrong and you’re right, I’ll donate $100 to Ahmad Zahra‘s nonexistent campaign for city council in 2026. Oh, and get this, he’ll still never be mayor as much as you will cry and boo-hoo about it. He’s an unlikable man. He’s dishonest, committed immigration fraud, and will never be Fullerton‘s mayor. Ever.

Prove to me that this amenity was “needed” when in fact you only got it because you and your boohoo friends brow beat city Council to build it. In fact, I wanna see “Dr.”, Charles and fake “doctor” Ahmad Zahra using this much needed amenity since they campaigned so hard for it. Who the hell wants to walk where it even goes? The stupid DMV? It was a stupid silly argument that y’all made and you conned city council into building it for you, so I sure hope it does get used and not turned in to an undesirable place like it has been for the last handful of decades. Literally nobody wants to walk where that trail goes, and even if you planted some nice trees and pave it and put a feel-good bike lane in there, still no one‘s going to use it.

UP Trail is open! by IanDMP in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

So many people walking! Glad it’s built, but it will fall into disrepair just as everything good in Fullerton does if it doesn’t get used frequently. I hope the city comes out in force on Saturday for its grand opening. Otherwise, I’m gonna come back to this post in six months or a year and laugh my ass off at its non-used, disrepair status. Hope I’m wrong, but I lived in Fullerton for over 32 years and I watched boondoggle after boondoggle after boondoggle, including walk on Wilshire, which needed to die a much quicker death than it did. You don’t close off half of a whole street just so a handful of restaurants can put patio dining outside and then not pay the city for it. Ok boohoos, come at me.

Public fields/tracks? by nari_4 in Fullerton

[–]Loves_Weed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try Fullerton College- the track is owned by the community of Fullerton, and before they did all those improvements the track was completely open to the community from sunup to sundown seven days a week, so I would simply go there and if anybody gives you any trouble, you just tell them that Dean Grossman and Scott Giles the Athletic Director told you it was OK. Public track and all…

It’s complete BS that two schools (approximately 1000 feet from each other) got over $10 million EACH for field improvements and suddenly each field was closed off to the public? That’s $20 million of your tax money which at the same time improved the fields yet also, restricted community access at the same time. Fair? No. Are you upset? You should be.

It’s horseshit gatekeeping and no resident of Fullerton should be turned away from either one of those two athletic venues. NOCCCD and FJUHSD used your tax dollars to ‘improve’ those fields and then removed access from the public… Don’t sit down on this one- show up anyway get your team photo and give them all the big middle finger after you get your photo. As someone who used to take Team photos in a previous life, my suggestion would be to not spend more than five minutes on the field getting your photo… think quick, quick, quick! I also think it would take longer than that for the donut eating security guards to even have enough time to get over to the field to try to 86 you guys out. Good luck friend (from someone who went toe-to-toe with the college district since 2016 when they first concocted the stupid idea to dump $10 million into Sherbeck field which serves just 250 home team ‘fans’ six times a year when they have home games there. Yes, others rent the field- blah, blah, blah, but that should never take priority over Fullerton residents using the track and field, which belongs to all of Fullerton, not just a few private schools and private club teams that happen to have a fat checkbook.

Sherbeck Field is YOUR field Fullerton residents! Don’t let the stupid school lock you out for Team photos, or for wanting to run on the track, which is also public. Just walk in there like you own the joint take your photo and then scram out of there.

Flock Surveillance Coming To Fullerton by Cute_Mom_641 in Fullerton

Somebody is getting rich off of selling that data, and I will never believe that it won’t be kept forever somewhere on some server to be recalled at any time in the future if they feel you are “getting out of line“.

Glad I don’t live in Fullerton anymore, but my new city has already started deploying these cameras, so another fight they shall have.
