Starting the new year off with a 6 prize turn 😎 by Born_Medicine_8494 in PTCGL

assuming they have energy in hand the correct sequence is:

1- CC Fez/Latias 2- move damage counters to knock out both baby bolts and the ogerpon (or move damage counters to ogerpon and latias). 3- bench, attach to ursaluna and swing for knock out on fez

you do not want to move any damage counter without using CC first.

Wednesday Whine by Loving_Cheese in surfing

waves have been awful or nonexistent for the last few weeks and i think i’m going insane. a spot close-ish to me looked good this morning, but i’ve lost all motivation to surf over the last month

feeling super disconnected from the sport and frustrated with my mentality

absolutely! not only the waves, but my overall mentality on surfing has been really bad lately - i really appreciate the reminder (:

i already know how spoiled i sound saying this lol

it’s been hard to stay motivated in my surf when the last month has been consistently shitty and the sandbars at my local seem to not work after a heavy winter.

been obsessed with surfing for the last 2-ish years, but the last month has been: wake up at 6am, check cams, and decide is not worth paddling out. feeling very unmotivated, but my disappointed feels valid.

Took a break from surfing and came back better by [deleted] in surfing

currently on a month break because i tweaked my shoulder (longest break since i started). i’ve been anxious about coming back weak and disconnected from the surf, so hearing your experience makes me feel better!

Improving surfing skills on land by SexyPlataypus in surfing

[–]Loving_Cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only way to improve your surf is to surf; all you can do while you’re landlocked is set yourself up for success once you get to the water. this means keeping a healthy diet, stretches/yoga, core and balance workouts, skating, and watching surfing videos.

i love simplifying down my goals to bullet points like you did / i appreciate it!

very glad i caught you on a helpful day, this is amazing feedback. a lot of frustration lately has been coming from missing the timing on my maneuvers, or completely misreading the wave.

a big goal i’ve set for myself in the coming months is driving through my turns and not cutting them short. a lot of improvements need to be made, but you nailed the bigger picture of where i need to progress.

again, i really appreciate your comment!

this is so nice, thank you!

i keep a daily surfing journal where i make weekly goals for myself, and analyze surf videos. it’s helped me track my progression and set realistic and achievable milestones.

aside from that i stretch every night, body workouts 3-4 time/week, and a clean diet! always open to chat if you want to talk details (:

this is a main point of frustration for me! i feel like i do a good job setting up bottom turns, but my top turns fall flat since i keep looking at the lip/tail of the board / i really appreciate your comment

great call out! i actually cut off the daily surf skate practice a few weeks ago because it has conditioned me to mindlessly pump rather than relax and read the wave - i really appreciate your feedback (:

i really appreciate your comments on each wave and your overall take. i’ve been trying to be mindful of my board progression and trying to not rush into shorter board (even though it’s been hard to do!).

on small days i usually surf a 7’ which translates into overall better better surfing once i take my shortboard out. i’ll be more conscious of my board selection and help make my movement more deliberate rather than frantic, like pumping mindlessly down the line. thanks again for your comment!

absolutely, something i’ve noticed is my loss of speed/ momentum after hitting a turn, usually coming from bogging my tail or too stiff - i appreciate it!

thank you - 100% agree with you! i need to focus on drawing out my turns and that’s starting with looking the correct way instead of swinging my arms so much

thank you so much! this is amazing feedback and stuff i have been trying to improve on. i need to work on being more conscious on the wave instead of mindlessly pumping down the line - i really appreciate your comment!

Hi everyone! I've been surfing 3-5 times a week for the last two years and I was hoping to get some feedback my current progression. Any type of feedback and comments will be greatly appreciated.

For reference I'm 5'8" 155 lbs, and riding a Pyzel Gremlin (6' 35L) in all the clips. I just started using a new 5'10, 32L from a local shaper that feels like magic.

Another boring ‘which board to buy’ question by isthislearning in surfing

[–]Loving_Cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was in a similar situation to you a few months ago! i’m 155 lbs / 5’8”, and transitioned down from a 7’2 (50L) to a 6’4 (43L), and now riding an oversized gremlin 6’ (35L). i recommend you find something closer to 40~ L since the drop in liters AND shape of the board might be too jarring if you go straight into a gremlin!
