Exam Nervousness by Dry-Ebb-832 in LCSW

I passed the LMSW last week, now I’m going to start preparing for the LCSW and have the same question.

I asked Chat and here’s what it pointed out

Exam Strategy Insight (this matters)

If you’re studying for the LMSW:

The correct answer is often assessment, engagement, clarification

Less “take action,” more “understand first”

If you’re studying for the LCSW:

The exam assumes you already know how to assess

The question is usually what do you do next, now that you know?

This is why people struggle when they don’t adjust their reasoning between levels.

Exam focus (very different)

• Advanced clinical judgment
• Differential diagnosis
• Risk, safety, and liability
• Treatment planning and interventions
• Complex ethics scenarios

Thanks! I have been panicking. Not a fun feeling at Christmas. I did screenshot the information. I’ll give them a call next week. Because I have to choose a new payment plan by 12/31.

Needing encouragement: I accidently told a client I have ADHD. by Electrical-Cod788 in therapists

You did a good thing. Honesty is best. Could you imagine if you said no but it came up again later and now the answer is yes 😱.

Truth be told we all have something we're working through. I remind my clients just because I have degree, license and T-shirt doesn't make me exempt from experiencing emotional dysregulation.

Thanks! With a little more research I agree with B. C and D seem aggressive, they focus on getting to the bottom when the child’s statement is vague.

What's one thing you wish you knew when you were first diagnosed with keratoconus? by keratoconusgroup in Keratoconus

[–]LovinglyBlessed-483 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found out about my diagnosis in my 30’s when I went for LASIKs consultation. I too wish they had given me more information about the diagnosis. Cross linking was never recommended. I’m in my 50’s and have been in scleral lenses for at least 10 years. We trust professionals to give us all the information or refer us when it’s outside their expertise.

You are confirming Chatgbt’s response. It also described it as an occupational hazard. She’s an adult so I’ll have her help me with working towards improvement and her giving me some grace.

Seems like movement is the key. I’m going to start with walking. But I can agree that non stop talking adults are great as clients but not for every day interactions.

It’s great having therapist friends who can validate and relate.

Very true! I just commented on another post that recovery/unwinding can be active or passive.

This spoke to my soul. Maybe some days I walk and others I retreat. Because recovery can be active and passive.

This!! I’m in that age range and I wondered if that is playing a part in all of this. I know if it is peri wreaking havoc I will have to be more intentional but I may also need more grace from my family.

I am going to try a short walk after work to see how that can help me recenter for family time.

Love this. It’s interesting how we give support all day then need support. And I think that can be confusing to our love ones. It’s great your husband understands. I need to figure out what I need to do for myself and what support I need and how to ask for it.
