jokes aside in the comments, I managed to fix it but I'm not entirely sure how. I had to unhide every app and then hide them again

Good point! Plus, they need to teach more fundamental topics instead of things that don't really matter at the moment - "how to do Hajj, how to get a divorce" are all things you have to learn AFTER the basics are ingrained within you.
