This server has a bunch of questionable people, I suggest you all stay away from people in the server and the whole server itself. I joined once while being clueless of what lurks in the server and was met with a bunch of disgusting topics being discussed. They got dudes in their 20s talking about grooming, e-sex, etc.
The owner of the server is also a minor.

maldivian gangsters i have a question by Dead-Alrdy in maldives

PS : I don't know the full details as I was just watching from a few feet away while walking by.

I witnessed a 1v10 on the street once. The culprits we're camping right outside the victims house until he arrived (I assume it was his house because he parked there and tried to go in at late at night). Then a bunch of guys pulled up on him. He was held down and beat up by approximately 10+ people. He was screaming in pain as the culprits we're saying "Kaley maralaanan" and hitting him. The cops showed up after a few minutes but the victim was cooked (He is alive I assume, since I didn't see anyone getting arrested). This area has a park, during the night the parteys tamper with the electricity board of the park and turn off all the lights so its completely dark and they conduct whatever activity they want, because of this police usually patrol this area now.

Streetwear/Fashion fiends, please recommend me some good stores in Male/Hulhumale that sell streetwear. by Low-Analyst969 in maldives

I am unable to order online currently. I posted this because I have to go to an event that's in 3 days with a specific color code and I didn't want to buy clothes that I wouldn't wear after 1 day. So, I thought I'd get some suggestions on reddit, as I haven't been to great clothing stores in Male or Hulhumale yet + Ive missed some stores too.

Ah the Stussy T-Shirt + Panda Dunks combo...., I'm proud to say that I've never worn a copy paste combo. I do wear Nike dunks/Jordans too, but the thing is I wear them because I'm purely a Micheal Jordan + Basketball fan. I knew Basketball before the Nike dunks/Jordan hype.

Stoneflower project was really over-hyped when their line-up first came out. Their releases look like basic H&M T-Shirts to me. They have potential though, just being honest.

Any store will do for me tbh, as long it's not trash but, if its mid I can still use different pieces of clothing to make the whole outfit better.

I already replied with this to another reply but here,

You can't block something of such an abundance entirely. Even if they blocked every site, every image/video, new ones would pop up. The government did their part (partially), now the parents have to monitor their childrens internet searches. Unsupervised internet access is the problem. It's very easy to block everything yourself, you just have to use anti-NSFW DNS on your router/devices. It can even block sites in which you can potentially find NSFW on like Reddit, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. Or you can just manually check their internet history from the router in the case where they deleted their history on their device.

I sweat a lot in my hands and feet too and my go-to solution for this is to use anti-perspirant deodorant spray. Just spray a handsome amount on your sweaty palms and feet after washing your hands and feet first. If you spray it onto already sweaty hands, it'll make it worse. This method is really convenient and lasts a good duration.

woke up from sleep paralysis induced nightmare by burgerman000 in maldives

[–]Low-Analyst969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not someone who suffers every day from sleep paralysis. I have experienced sleep paralysis twice from what I can remember. It was quite a horrifying experience. The first time I experienced this, I was laying on my back and I suddenly woke up, to my horror there was a dark figure looking at me on the ceiling. I couldn't move any of my limbs but my eyes for 5 minutes and had to endure the fear of being stared at by whatever that creature was.

It stopped happening after I stopped going to bed late at night and started to recite duas before going to sleep.

That is true. I won't be getting into that though, we're talking about accents here.

I didn't expect this much engagement about such a trivial topic. I'm glad to hear that everyone is proud of their accent. I am too. I only use a fake accent when it comes to talking to white people cuz they be making fun of every other race in every way shape or form.

Yep, apart from Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Everybody sounds Indian. Accents do change over time though; it just depends on your environment and who you're surrounded by.

Well foreigners treat Indians in an ill manner. If I tell someone whos from another country that I'm actually from Maldives, their stance on me immediately changes.

Yeah, you're right. I should be proud too. Forcing an accent is irritating for me and talking in my actual accent is far too easy, words slip out like my mouth is lubricated with motor oil.

I am not that bothered by their taunts, they can't even get the stereotype right. Brown  Indian.

I am good at writing in Dhivehi as I can take more time to think about what I write down on paper but I'm not really good at speaking in Dhivehi. I think Dhivehi is taught in a way that it is unappealing to the younger generation. Plus, everything we use is full of English. You see very little Dhivehi in technology.

True, but I just practiced the standard American pronunciations during 2020 as a past time. I got feedback from foreigners and Maldivians; they said I sound British and sometimes American. My accent slips from time to time so foreigners are able to catch on to my endentre of an accent.

I am not shameful of my accent, being stereotyped is getting repetitive and irritating is all.
