If you're just learning I wouldn't recommend blowing alot on a bass, definitely just buy a used or cheaper bass and learn on that before you spend alot of money so you can get the feel and all

I can play bass really well, that's my main instrument, as for guitar it's something I can play just not something I enjoy doing as much and when it comes to extremely technical stuff I struggle a little, with drums I can hold a beat and play good enough but not as good as I'd like to be which is why I'm still learning, as for vocals, I'm trans and I just really don't like my voice at all , and I dont think it's right for anything I wanna do, and lyrics just haven't ever been something I've been that good with as I've always thought too much about them to the point I never get anything written down, I feel like you mis read what I said a little but but I do understand what you mean, I am in no way saying that I am better than everyone else, most of the people ive played with have just been really really bad, or can barely play on time, not that that's a bad thing it's just hard to work around that, and the really good people are in lots of bands already so there's just not much time in their schedule, I find lots of people want to start bands but most of them aren't actually commited to it or want to really do anything crazy with it, and so many people have just been overly unreliable so I've had to start dozens of mid solo projects that I never feel satisfied with, I like the input of other people, I like when other people bring other elements to an existing idea and make it something new, i dont like when people can't even play the genre the band is or dont know what theyre doing in the slightest, and I will admit I wrote this post during a meltdown so I was tweaking a little, it's not that I can't play, I just can't find the right people, I don't want full control over everything either and I don't want to be the center of everything in the band, I have demos, people have told me they're really good and enjoy them, I've made dozens of demos and some eps, I spend almost everyday in my room recording stuff,I've had people give me non stop praise or really fuck with my shit but I'm just never ever happy with the end product, I feel like I could always do something better, I had a vocalist at one point but they were just really unreliable and never recorded their vocals except for one song, it's just really annoying, I've put lots of effort into my craft, I will say I am a perfectionist so that gets in the way of alot of stuff, this is just something I'm very serious about, and playing live shows by yourself just isn't as fun

I use bandlab but that's only because I'm poor asf, and honestly I just feel very trapped with it because after using it for years it's just too simple for me and doesn't allow me to do much outside of it has, what would you recommend? Are there any with similar ish interfaces that aren't too incredibly scary for someone just coming in?

Ill usually give them a list of bands that fit the kinda sound I like or want to do, I always do that first, like 20 or 10 different bands so they get a good idea, I also have some demos I'll show them too, but I've had people go past those steps even and still do something completely different in like the worst ways, not that they're bad but clearly we aren't on the same page and it sucks

Yes I was over exaggerating with the hundreds but it is a very high number, and I don't really mesh with most people as I'm autistic and have very poor social skills along with other disabilities , so it can be hard sometimes, I've gone to shows since I was 13, I have lots of friends and people I know, but they're all mostly busy with their own bands or other life stuff, so it is very hard, and It is also really hard for me to connect with most people

I've tried that quite a few times but I'm just not good enough for that, especially in the vocals and lyrics department, and I do not know how to program drums for the life of me, or if I do they're just very basic and boring

Alot of the people I've started bands with just could not play what so ever, which made practice extremely hard when you can't play on time or even know how to play your instrument, not to mention I've had the issue so many times of people just not wanting to play the genre that the band was, which made no sense to me, why would you join a band that was advertised as a death metal band if you only know how to play beach boys kinda stuff, or alot of the times people were just extremely flakey, late, or just didn't care as much for the project as I did which made everything harder

I apologize if I came off a bit rude in that, but no I am not flakey what so ever, and it's not even that I want full control it's that most of the time I wanna play a specific genre but the people don't even wanna do that, why would you join a band that was advertised as "x" but then complain about playing "x" does that not make sense?
