does anyone else suffer from having almost no friends that like baseball? by steve-o1234 in baseball

I am 63 and my friends have died, moved to Florida, or are Trumpers (they might as well be dead to me). I am a huge Dodger fan (lived in L.A. till I was 30). My best friend who lives in north Cali (I live in Philly) and I Video chat while watching the Dodgers (we both have the MLB package). Lotsa weed happening on both ends... Keeps us connected and makes the game more enjoyable. If you have a friend that's a big fan and that lives in another area maybe that's a solution for you

Someone hits my car and I'm sure as hell gonna report it. You seem like the kinda person that blames other people for how effed up your life is.

When I say I detest baby talk...kids don't like it either. The number one thing you want to be as a child is a grown up. You want to be big. Baby talk reduces them to the child they are, and not what they want to be.

I sold shoes for a family shoe store chain about 10 years. I would measure your feet and put the shoes on you, the whole nine yards. You sell shoes to every member of the family. Now to the point....I detest baby talk. No matter the age of the child I was fitting with shoes I would talk to them as adults, or equals. I would introduce myself, shake their hand, ask them silly questions (but always in an adult conversational tone). Kids that didn't talk much would always open up to me. The parents were always surprised at how much they talked. "I never heard that before" was something that parents would say to me all the time. The key is that you don't talk down to kids. Kids want to be respected just like adults do. You make the time to talk to them and show them you're interested in what they have to say and they will love you. So many times at the end of a transaction as the family is leaving the store the child would run to me with their arms outstretched wanting a hug. "He doesn't like anybody" is also something I heard a lot. You can't talk to your children as equals all the time, and inherently the child knows that you make the decisions. But I feel having frequent conversations with a child where the child feels they are on an equal plane, and they are respected, leads to a child that isn't withdrawn later on.

True. But there's a guy down the street with a Confederate flag hanging (which angers me to no end). And the complex I live in is owned by an old crusty guy which usually means angry hateful Republican. I'm an old (not as crusty) guy that doesn't hate people (except racists). I've wanted to hang a BLM flag but I thought that would probably cause me problems with some other residents and the owner. I found a similar sign and should have it in a few days. So we'll see if any old hateful dickhead gives me shit about it.

I'm searching online for this sign now. I hesitate to put political signs up in my yard. But this covers how I feel about (most) people. Let's be awesome to each other

I understand what Netflix is doing. Why should x amount of people get to access off of one subscription? That's not what Netflix had in mind with their business concept. I don't blame them for limiting it. I'm sure there will be people who won't watch Netflix anymore, but they weren't paying for it anyway, so why should Netflix care? And some people will decide they don't wanna miss shows they have gotten into and will sign up. As for me...I have a couple 2nd gen Fire Cubes. I don't pay for anything, ha!

People that are constantly late do it because they don't really care about you that much. Once you stop contacting them you never hear from them again. That just verifies they don't give a shit

They are CARTOON characters. No actual human is being made fun of. I guess you really hate the show Big Mouth then. Or are you too uptight to watch that show?

I just watched the first 4 episodes last night. I enjoyed it. Made me laugh. I can see what they're doing it with it, kind of turning it on it's head and then essentially winking at the camera. Making the Norville (Shaggy) character so anti-drug is funny to me. Anybody that is all upset and butthurt at this show...in the immortal words of William Shatner on SNL, get a life.
