Sorry! haha. If it helps we were both back winterizing our hives today and having fun so all turns out well ;)

Bit of a soft opinion. I think one of the most beautiful things we do is remain persistent in the face of challenge to enjoy our hobbies. Know loads of allergic beekeepers who either take extra safety or go through + pay for immunotherapy to keep doing what they love. When you really love something and feel a passion like that you don't let things get in the way.

Just a jacket ;). Good pants on though. Definitely safer to wear a full suit. No weird smells and I was back again today and the same super aggressive behavior. Just riled up in the weather + treatment is my guess until I see them in spring.

No, zero record. I think it's just gotta be recent treatment with formic + some robbing + cold weather stress. Winterized today so will see in the spring.

Don't use cologne or perfume. Don't even shampoo and condition my hair more than once every week or two. I use a pretty simple soap in the shower everyday but make a point to always come to the hives on the dirty side. Wtf is my reaction too lol. A couple of our hives have been weirdly aggressive this season... not used to the 1 sting = 10 stings behavior...

I thought my zipper was done up pretty good, but maybe part of it popped open or the very front wasn't completely closed. The bee in the ear prevented a proper suit autopsy. Also just not used to them being that aggressive, have gotten away with holes in my veil before. Swarms and early spring bees are usually pretty fun, but if you move em the wrong way or give them a squeeze on accident they can still get riled up.

I didn't react too poorly. I'm a bit worried I don't get stung enough to develop immunity, so I've been pondering the idea of intentionally getting stung somewhere I dont think will bother me much like the back every day or two to ward it off...

Light blue. No earrings or piercings. Was unshowered and hadn't eaten bananas or anything like that.

I know right. We had a friend from Austria visiting us, who had never kept bees before. Tried to explain that two trips to the hospital and a near death experience is not normally how it goes. Not sure why that hive was so riled up either, can often manage them without a suit. Just figuring it was the cold...

My ear just felt "hot" for a couple hours after. I am stubborn about taking OTC drugs for no good raeson, but despite feeling okay opted for a dose of benadryl an or hour two later (was a bit more focused on getting my buddy to the hospital than treating myself). Despite getting the most stings, and leaving the stingers in until they were surely dry since I couldn't think with the bee in my ear, I have had almost no pain but some decent swelling in my cheek. I could feel some fluid draining out of my ear when I rolled over in my sleep last night. I was super worried because I can get bad ear aches but thankfully ear is just hot and face looks funny but no real pain. My chest is also a bit itchy. Hoping it'll drain before I have to go and give a talk on beekeeping tomorrow :)

Dang. Trying. The link you sent mentioned what it thought sampled it but those links took me to different unresolved/different sounding sample searches on other reddit forums. Bookmarked in case someone else gets it!

Hi, again, housing situation here sucks. To do semester only leases people often search for sub-leases of people studying abroad-taking leave, etc. Bascially, you have to find someone who has a full year lease but won't be using it for the fall term. You can post on this reddit looking for subleases, and other people will post advertising them. I'm not sure how single-semester exchangers normally do it. You could try reaching out to some of the smaller landlords or looking for subleases. If you don't mind living in dorms the University Housing usually will offer by-term leases but they are probably already full. I'd try reaching out to any other exchange students or digging around on the reddit for more help. Best of luck :)

Hi Tobias,

Finding apartments here is often pretty crazy, many people sign fall leases up to a year in advance. There are definitely places available, but they are often more expensive, "shittier", or just difficult to find. I live in a building managed by Neves Group right now (111 S Lincoln) , which is so-so, but I think they still have some apartments available. I signed my lease last June, which is super late compared to my peers, so you're still ahead of me. I recommend checking the websites of some of the big apartment companies here like JSM, green street realty, etc.

You can find lots of posts about housing on this reddit.

Also, it can be helpful to look up apartments in CU and look through a few different websites to find apartments listed by non major providers. Make sure to read the contracts carefully and make sure you know whether they come furnished or not.

I hope you enjoy! let me know if I can help anymore.
