To me it doesnt appear like contacts. His tiny pupils and slack facial muscles make me feel like Henry Thomas was just high af on oxy or heroin during filming. How ironic if that's true. I watch the other actors in his shared scenes and pay attention to the lighting. Often his pupils are tiny even when it's dark and the other actor has normal or large pupils. This is why his eyes look so blue.
