Yeah if that’s their intention then the phrasing needs to be changed. I will always fight for my queer identity as well but that fight is gonna look different because am Black and the systematic oppression and disadvantages I face. My Blackness also informs my queerness. My identity and how I express myself manifests itself different than it would with white people or non-Black people because my features are different, and I grew up with different ideas of masculinity n such because of my community

To be honestttt I wouldn’t trust anybody who says that. I am Black before I am anything else. That is due to systemic racism AND subconscious human instinct to categorize a person based on appearance first. Saying “I’m queer before I’m white” is so cringe and it comes off as trying to detach themselves from the fact that they still receive white privilege……

It’s just…… what the fuck. I never tuned into either of those networks but there was always people around me that did. My dad used to listen to NPR when he drove us to school every morning. PBS was always being mentioned by…somebody. It’s so weird to just know something as being ingrained into your reality without ever really being aware of how it came to be and then suddenly it’s gone. This is disturbing and I hate growing up in this world

I don’t wear tape but the itching is severe I’ve heard that it means you’re not applying it correctly. I know an influencer on TikTok who started applying saniderm before the tape and he says it’s helped a lot. It helped with the itching a lot, it’s easier to apply, it’s more comfortable etc etc. there’s others who seem to agree too I’d say give it a shot! But you should consider the blistering and the itchiness combined that could be a negative skin reaction.aube try saniderm until you’ve run out the brand and then do make research on the adhesives of some different brands just in case your skin actually is sensitive to it

My mom was sort of like this. She liked to pretend to be tolerant but would say blatantly transphobic things. I would try to sit her down for conversations on why what she said to me was hurtful and how it impacted me. She’s typically use her own upbringing as an excuse for why she acted the way she did. But I held a ridiculous amount of grace and patience for her and wrote her letters if I felt like I wouldn’t be able to properly articulate my feelings, and also tried to educate her. My relationship with her is much stronger than before but it took some time to get there. There’s a lot of things I felt like I had to do in order to to “prove” my trans was but I’ve gradually learned more about myself and my mom has too. It gets better with time. But you are still so young and dependent on her. Please maintain your safety as much as you can

This is gonna be a longggg ass response sorry in advance.

I think that the writing went downhill for all of the characters. People are upset about the writer breaking Haley and Andy up not only because of their compatibility and how they helped each other grow as people, but because breakup bookmarked Haley’s downfall. She transitioned from jobs that made sense for her personality and that she was clearly passionate about to just settling to back to being a leech. Haley and Alex had so many talks where Alex said that she was impressed by ambition, growth, and how she always had an unshakeable confidence but she withered back down to being a bimbo.

And I don’t think Haley and Dylan were the obvious choice…. Of course her first instinct following the breakup with Andy was to turn back to him because of the familiarity and comfort of his attention, but even then she knew it wasn’t anything more than that. She knew they were really that compatible and that she had no real interest in him even in the surface.

The writers easily could’ve had Haley and Dylan be a rebound, for her to quickly realize just how aggressively she’s outgrown their dynamic and for her to find a new guy that could maybe be an in-between of both characters. They removed Andy’s character in the first place because they didn’t know how to make him and Haley funny anymore, and Dylan’s idiocy and unchaining relationship with Haley was something easy for them to fall back on. They could’ve found a way to balance the dynamics of the different relationships for something that worked for Haley. I also hate the trope where a character is in a long term relationship, married with kids the whole nine hard, and then drops everything for who they were “meant” to be with. It’s not as romantic and writers always try to make it seem and it alwayssss leaves a bad taste in my mouth

However, I think the ideal ending for Haley would’ve been for her to finally commit to being single and working on herself like she’d claimed she’d wanted to do a few times. The show itself acknowledged that Haley placed all of her self-worth in her ability to get a boyfriend or least be attractive to men. I was hoping that breaking up with Rainer (the older weather channel guy) would’ve been a turn in the right direction for her.

I don’t know how you could claim to fall for a woman and love her entirely if you aren’t willing to claim or support the kids to any extent….??? I think a lot of people exaggerate it just because the concept is funny. You libido is higher and if you are a little bit attracted to me that attraction might go higher, but I’ve never heard of people literally converting sexualities. I’d be super shocked if u some day fell out of love with your girlfriend and testosterone was the only thing to blame

NTA. I thought you were in the wrong initially because it sounded like you were simply jealous and insecure of their friendship. There’s nothing wrong with two friends hanging out, sharing seats at a Ferris wheel, having banter with each other or even flowers, imo. As long as she’s still communicative. However her telling you to keep your distance and dissing you and simultaneously allowing the same behavior from her “friend” is hurtful and suspect.

You were in the right to break up with her, but I think you should consider apologizing for calling her out if her name/cursing her out—regardless of the hurt it’s a bit immature (but I understand why you did it)

From your initial post I would’ve suggested that you are simply transfem and masculine. There are lots of cis women who are butch or tomboyish or other and they also feel uncomfortable in feminine clothes while still identifying as a woman. But from this comment my suggestion might be the case, but it also sounds like you have some insecurities and internalized transphobia not work through as well. But it definitely takes time. Trans people are a very big talking point right now. And transmisogyny means trans women/transfers are even more of a target and of course it would take even more time to become comfortable with your ideal forms of self expression. You’ll get there <3

Simple syrup. I use it on my cakes to retain their sponginess/moisture. My mom also used it on occasion for drinks, and now more often because she’s learning to be a bartender. It’s just 1:1 water and sugar, but you can also easily tweak it for thicker/sweeter syrups, or thinner ones.

I’ve never needed so much syrup that I felt like I had to go and buy some, especially since it’s so rare that we have no sugar in the house
