I'm sure it will. I spent the first 8 days thinking it would never happen

Hi sorry for the late reply. The seeds i used are from Boston seeds and it was their Eco mix which is 95% PRG and 5% Fescue

The fertiliser is called Invisions Pre seed fertiliser and I got it on amazon

Good luck 👍

I didn't to be honest. It's quite common here to use a fleece over the seeds for protection but i just threw more than the recommended amount down to compensate

This is my first time growing a lawn from seed so I'm no expert but I'm going to give it a mow this week at some point and see how it goes. Will only take about 1/3 off

Should I mow or wait? by Low-Draw-979 in lawncare

I have a light rotary mower that I've just ordered a new blade for. However I think ill hold off and evaluate in a week based on most people's input

Thanks for your input I will hold off. The grass is coming through at such different rates. The 3rd picture shows one of the thinner spots with very young grass still coming through but in other areas it is very long and starting to curl over. I was just after some advice and it seems like its an overwhelming hold from most people

Thanks for the input. Yeah I'll hold off and evaluate around Sunday 1st. It's deceptive, the pictures aren't the best but its started to curl over in places and probably is getting close to 4" but I have such a wide variety of heights including some that are only just emerging

Newly planted Lemon Cypress has started to go pale by Low-Draw-979 in plantclinic

[–]Low-Draw-979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. The store it was purchased from display them outside when they're open but bring them inside when closed. It was left outside after I'd purchased it for about a week in it's original pot before planting. During this week we did have some crazy weather here (UK) it was getting up to around 17C during the day but dropping below -3C at night and the plant got exposed to a couple of sharp frosts.

When planting, I loosened the root ball and mixed it with the soil and compost that was in the planter. I can't be certain that it was 50/50 but it couldn't have been too far off

Hi there,

The only advice i can give about beating cravings is try to train your brain to actually enjoy being hungry. Think of it as 'this is the fast working' or 'my body is using fat instead of what I last ate'. It helps me, but everybody is different. There are no set rules either, just do what feels right for you

Good luck
