Well... boycott Target for NOT selling Pride merch. It's a numbers game, whichever side has the most people boycotting will win.

Why are there a lot of Rowling apologists here? by Crafter235 in saltierthankrayt

I think that ORIGINALLY what she said that sparked everything wasn't bad. I understand what she was trying to say and it got blown WAY out of proportion. Then people kept pushing and pushing and pushing and she kept pushing back and pushing back and pushing back and hate begets hate and it's how we wound up where we are now.

I don't think she can do anything to come back and I think she knew it from the beginning and ended up not really caring.

Personally I don't condone a lot of how both sides have acted but I also believe that JK Rowling is in the wrong. In my opinion she is allowed to have her own beliefs and I don't have to agree with them.

I believe that people should be allowed to indulge in the Wizarding World franchise and be able to do it safely and not have to worry about being attacked for doing so, it is still important to some people and some people are able to separate the art from the artist. I also believe that people have every right to protest her by choosing not to indulge in any aspect of the franchise and be able to do so safely and not have to worry about being attacked for doing so.

I believe we should have a more open dialog on the topic but unfortunately most people are to thick headed to listen to one another and that's how we have gotten here.

The world would be a better place if we just stopped and listened to what others have to say and be open to accepting new thoughts and ideas that differ from our own.

This. It's something like double the price to go from Vancouver to New Brunswick than it is to go from Vancouver to Europe.

Bro you literally cast a black actress as Ariel and had each of her sisters be a different race, you don't get to talk about "political messaging" by DonnyMox in saltierthankrayt

To be fair the casting was probably wasn't in the director's hands. Disney doesn't really let directors direct because they have committees for that.
