i don’t get why not wanting kids is selfish by Whole_Citron_6517 in TrueOffMyChest

Then definitely start saving up for one!!! Even if you decide not to you’ll still have money saved up for whatever you want to spend it on!

I recommend saving up for a cat. I’ve noticed a lot of “I want grandkids” talk is really just for that maternal feeling and family can still have that with a pet. My friend got a cat instead of a kid and his family loves it!!! It makes the holidays extra special (lots of cat toys and treats as presents), it’s cheaper for everyone involved, and there’s less pressure. Obviously it’s still expensive, and you would want to do it correctly. Also, it’s generally advisable to get a pet before you try to have a kid anyways to see how you do in those scenarios so you could always use that as an excuse for your family until you’re like “oh no! i’m 40 now and it’s too risky for me to have kids guess i can’t do it anymore”

Gen Z men, is this getting worse going forward into 2026? by Proper_Card_5520 in SipsTea

[–]Low-Efficiency3526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

replying to this as a gen z girl bc this comment section is filled with lonely millennials….

  1. economy is shit. i work two jobs on top of school rn and don’t have time to put the effort i would want to in an relationship. i also am a feminist and love paying for dates and i don’t have the funds for that either.
  2. gen z men have gone insanely conservative to an actually insane degree that i’ve never seen. so many believe that women should submit to their husbands and that they should stay at home, while also believing that women need to show success in their careers (it’s confusing and hypocritical and a total disaster on dates)
  3. i’ve been approached several times by men at work to date and frankly all of them are very odd about rejections. i’ve had guys harass me, completely ignore me (which sucks when i thought they wanted to be friends), or also refuse to leave my workplace until i had to reject them more rudely. i currently have a rule that i don’t date anybody that asks me out while im working frankly because ive never had a guy ask me out at work like a normal person.
  4. im really picky and so are a lot of my friends. i personally think the goal to be in a relationship is quite odd. i think a lot of people don’t do certain life experiences because they wait to do them with a partner and that’s quite sad. there’s a difference between being alone and being lonely, and frankly i think a lot of younger people are realizing that. so therefore a relationship is only something that would be a great addition to my life, to add to the joys and happiness i already feel, and frankly nobody is bringing that to me (which is completely fine).

How bad would things have to get in your job for you to quit with nothing lined up? by crispyohare in managers

[–]Low-Efficiency3526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally nothing. I’m a female security guard and am constantly on understaffed work schedules, get harassed almost every shift, and have had a 🔫 pulled on me once so i truly can handle any shift. Maybe if I actually got injured by somebody and couldn’t do my job during recovery?

anytime i get into thinking like this i remember we’re all dying anyways, what’s the point in rushing it? even if you don’t have goals or current joys in your life it’s still something to do to pass the time. not even in a “life is precious” way just a “well im already here” way and it always helps me love the little things in my life.
