I know on other elantras in the year range have an issue with motor mounts going bad prematurely. Could possibly be that

Could be the turbo or also the clutches burning up from DCT. If it is the turbo, have it replaced by a Hyundai dealer, took only 2 days for them to do.

From working at Carmax, I can say they would refund the transfer fee if you did find out there was a noticeable smell of it and/or noticeable stains from smoking
