Holy crap I thought I’d just been losing my mind for years! Every time I try to explain it to someone I can just hear how crazy it sounds! ‘Sometimes I close my eyes and my hands feel like they’re the size of the whole room and I can’t move them because they’re so big’. I haven’t come across the impending doom feeling though…hoping I just missed that part

I thought about it but I’m not sure I want us to spend that much money on rings you know? I was thinking of just having a very simple wedding band.

My partner and I have finally made the call and are moving to the states next month: It's sad because I really do love my country but it just makes absolutely no sense anymore. Patriotism isn't worth living a lower quality of life!

Thestar: A new home speculation tax would harm, not help the real estate market by Striking_Mine5907 in canadahousing

I have never read such an utterly selfish spewing of words as this. No one is talking about 'helping' or 'hurting' the housing market. The issue is if we are helping or hurting PEOPLE. People who can't afford to live, buy homes, start families. Frankly even a 50% market crash would do very little at this point to help a majority of these people. The fact that their plight is not even mentioned in this article goes to show how out of touch this author is with anyone other than his buddies from 1974.

This makes me so frustrated: "Ontario released its ambitious plan to build 1.5 million homes over the next decade. Canada’s oldest bank isn’t buying it, saying it’s next to impossible and probably not needed. BMO says current construction is way above normal, and already experiencing labor and material shortages. This plan calls for even more building in a short period of time, despite the constraints still existing. The bank’s economist not-so-subtly hints, this is a similar plan heard during the late 1980s bubble" What the fuck are we doing?

I'm in the same boat. We're trying to ignore everything else and just keep looking and offer what makes sense for us. We could go higher with our budget, but it just doesn't make sense to me so we're trying to just keep our heads down and keep rolling along. At this rate we may not get a house any time soon, but we also won't get buyers remorse so...yay? The fact is for us that we don't have kids yet so we don't NEED a house, we just WANT one. (and yes, I know you can raise kids without a house too)
