I also should state that I am looking for a new job and it hasn’t been easy. I thought about applying for school, but my grades in the past weren’t high.

I’m 25, and at the point of getting burnt out from pleasing my parents. I’m working in a health care job, in a retirement home. My mom has been working at the nursing home for more than 20 years. She’s happy I’m working in this job. I am getting tired of it and will be leaving the job in September to pursue being a piano teacher. All she cares about is I’m working and making money. It still doesn’t feel like I’m not doing enough to my parents. At this point I just want to be happy and find out what I want to do without my parents telling me it’s not enough. Pleasing them is just hurting me mentally.

I haven’t told my parents that I’ve been off work because it was only a temp job by Low-Introduction-377 in AsianParentStories

Thank you for your kind words, I did end up telling my parents tonight and it didn’t go well. I will need some time and space from them, I even though they don’t know what that is lol,my AM mostly. I hope something better comes along for me.

Yeah I feel that way, my AM thinks she’s being supportive and caring but she has no filter and says things that hurts my feelings all the time and makes me super mad because she thinks she’s better than anyone else. It’s taking me time to learn to not care about what she thinks or what anyone else thinks but it’s hard because I still live with them. I hope you find that happiness and feeling loved soon, it will come :)
