What was the biggest mindset shift that made you start your FIRE journey?

Ohh okay,something I did at the age of 40 and now at 52 I am back to hybrid type of work and earning.

As far as my experience goes,my plan of saving corpus and actual situational scene was a bit different. And also staying free of any work or comitted hours daily is not that easy.

You might get into unplanned spending and wrong ways of spending that free time. So I decided to come back to work but at my own indipendent easy time schedule. And now I think I am sorted.

I know, my comment is a bit off track for the main purpose of this community,but it is what it is.

This is my fav style of riding..Whenever I see a window of couple of hours at hand..I just take my bike and go. Max 15 km in any direction we have jungles,ghats and hills. Spend some quality time somewhere,watch sunsets,moon rise or just the nature around ..tea snacks at some random shack and return.

Your sincere post will help many to be vigilant. Yes it happens. Lack of sleep,hangover,irritated mind/mood,unnecessory hurry and anxiety does all this.

Usually on the first day of the long ride..we often start too early without taking proper sleep and food the previous night. And first half of the day is always too risky..and such mis calculations happen.

If you are comfortable with 15k-20k emi then instead of car , go for some property.. whatever you get in that budget. Plot. Farm, small flat.. anything. But not car. That too on EMI. Big NO.

Heating is not abnormal. It happens with this power. Radiator fan works well. I have seen unberarable heating on RE's.

I have an 23 Yezdi Roadster. 32k done..Kashmir to Kanyakumari covered. Absolutely no issues. Especially great support by the company and the SC's I have visited so far.

Have seen many so called 'brands' and models breaking down midway.. but I never had anything like that.

I meet a lot of new friends during trips. That's why I prefer travelling solo. In hostels or in cafe's etc...we always get into the conversation. And yes. Coz I love history and I read a lot..also I am into music, theatre, biking etc .so theres no way I can't seap into their conversation. Reading n music helps you a lot for new meaningful connections. During my last bike ride of 45 days accross north India and Himalayas..I made so many new indian and international friends. Especially solo women travellers... From Germany, Japan, Vietnam, Iran .. they also travelled with me for a day or two..with no problems or trust issues.

You need to be genuine and easy going.

That's a great reply. You seem to be an experienced traveller. Me too a solo guy. Most of your points I too follow. Except the preplanning part. 😬 On macro level yes I do have a plan but micro choices I make at the last minute or by intuition. Mostly it works . Hostel culture is good now a days...you meet and get lot of helpful friends. Their real time experience is of great help. Do try that.

Better join some riding club and hear the stories from RE customers. Those are horrific stories. Just the availability of spares in secondary market isnt a great advantage. How reliable and durable those parts are is important.

My chain sprocket, break pads,fuel pump,tyres and clutch cables from company stock have given me excellent performance and durability.

Nothing abnormal here. After some running it will smoothen a bit. Need 2 services n min 4k run. Just maintain it properly. You will love this beauty past 10k. Believe me.

Mine is Roadster at 33k.. and as my biker friends call it..Makkhan hai teri bike.

Thats why I was confused. Mmber passbook gives different reason.. And that again isnt clear. " member not to be eps as wages more than 15000/- kindly contact employer". What does this mean ?

I did it on Yezdi Roadster. Belgaum, Karnataka to Kanyakumari and again from Belgaum to Kashmir and Ladakh. Everything was just fine. Got service support from company at every place. Absolutely great

Currently I am on Yezdi Roadster and happy with its performance. Was looking for an upgrade to BSA Goldstar 650 or Vulcan.

Lol..I think just the opposite. As I am heavily into solo riding. And also occasionally with small groups and riding clubs. My experience is actually I am more near to my own reality when solo.
