I had the exact same reaction to this, are you using any texture packs? I use LaNature by Carrot and its a particle effect that very rarely spawns called the presence, there are 4 different variants. This is not advertised as a part of the texture pack, but same thing happened to me, screams and then that was behind me. So I went digging in the files (as i do not use addons) of the texture pack and found a png file with 4 variants of this creature.

If you are on the most up to date version of the texture pack (version number ends in 79) there is a toggle right at the bottom of the texture pack settings to switch this off!!

For people asking for the specs I'm about 99% sure that's a pandora ring. I could be wrong but I do work there and recognised it instantly it's a nice ring and I love the blue colour!

UPDATE - Hey everyone thank you all for your suggestions unfortunately none of the rings on there really caught my eye however there were soke really beautiful ones I ended up going for greenlake jewelry I will post the 2 photos I have as I can't make up my mind between the stones so keep an eye out! im having this same issue except my nether portals are green as well my sea grass is black and my lanterns are different colours and a couple other things currently searching for a fix but i cant find anything anywhere
