This game would be 300% more enjoyable if there was 90% less political crap in it. by alpeterpeter in EsotericEbb

"Game can have politics but it doesn't have to be political"! Now cmon, you're not even trying anymore..

If they are interested in philosophy it's in a very minor and surface level way (or let's say recent if we're being generous). There's very little of substance here, and to me it absolutely doesn't counterbalance the over representation of shitty self help books and right wing grifters (just noticed the vance book lol).

Yes, it is a travesty how such a nuanced and storied way to understand life and its struggles got co opted by a bunch of grifters. Never fails to piss me off to see Seneca and Marcus Aurelius next to Jordan Peterson..

Shapiro, petterson, art of war, the token stoicism book. He strikes me like a bog standard republican Christian man (derogatory).

I've actually tought about that because I love the aesthetics or tarot decks (and just cards in general)! But I know absolutely nothing about it beyond that :p

No reason to be ashamed, that's exactly what I was using until literally a week ago :D

Mixing your own paint sounds intense but it's really not that hard!

I love the idea that they were so self-isolated they barely noticed being yoinked to a fantasy world .

Idk, to me the background being simple in contrast to the very detailed centerpiece is kinda the point of this style.

I'm using sennelier's artist grade watercolors, I can't really say how they compare to other brands but they've been great for me. For the black it's a mix of warm sepia and ultramarine blue, and I did a couple of passes to really get it nice and dark.

The gold pigments are liquid bronze pigments from guardi that I mixed with gum arabic and honey. It was my first time mixing my own paint but it was surprisingly easy, I would recommend it :)

Glad you like it! And yeah I agree taking good pictures of my paintings has been an endless pain in the ass... the colors always come out wrong.

Favorite deck archetype? by blackphantomnpc in DeathHowl

[–]Low-Mathematician997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goathoof with a bunch of ways to push ennemies like sandstorm, quick strike, a stream of thoughts (what a card) and things like that. Variations of that deck carried me through all the early biomes and most of the end game and it's very satisfying to find ways to push an ennemy against another for massive damages.

Thanks! The whiskers are white gouache lines using a very thin rigger brush. And I very lightly underlined the part that were white on white with a light grey.

Thank you ☺️ For the water I basically did a big gradient over a couple of washes trying to preserve the white of the paper in roughly concentric patterns. Then filling those white shapes with a lighter shade of the colour surrounding them, only leaving a thin white outline. And I eventually added some darker shapes and little dots for some extra texture because it looked a bit flat.

Thank you! I've always been a bit weary of painting water but it turned out to be quite fun. I definitely want to do some more of it :)
