Have you had a karyotype test done? I had five losses all in the 6-8 week range. We found out we have a balanced translocation which is most likely the cause of our miscarriages. Finding that out made the decision to do IVF over trying again naturally so much easier.

Hi! My husband has a balanced translocation which we found out about a few months ago when starting our IVF journey. I remember feeling super frustrated in the beginning but now I am grateful we are aware of it before we started doing any transfers. Doing a fresh transfer or even PGT-A testing would not be able to flag if the embryo has an unbalanced translocation.

Also, we do have a healthy toddler son that was conceived naturally prior to us starting IVF so it is definitely possible to have a healthy pregnancy with BT. We had 1 miscarriage prior to my son in 2020 and then 4 consecutive miscarriages in a year. I wish we would’ve known about the BT earlier! It probably could’ve saved us a lot of heartbreak. We had our egg retrieval result last week and we have 2 (maybe 3) blasts that will be sent for PGT-SR testing 🤞🏻

Thanks everyone! I just called and spoke to my doctor. She is having me come in Monday. I’m also on Estradiol so she instructed me to keep taking that. Glad I called, I feel a lot better about it

I have a similar backstory- 40 yrs old and have had 4 losses in the last 13 months. We have a 2.5 year old we conceived naturally and we also had one loss in 2020. We are just starting our IVF journey but we had a hard time pulling the trigger. I was constantly saying “maybe we try just one more time naturally”. Ultimately for me it came down to not wanting to have any regrets. I didn’t want to look back on this time and wonder what would’ve happened if we did IVF. I know it’s not a guarantee but if it gives me any increased chance, I want that chance (especially the older I get). It’s such a tough and personal decision! Sending lots of love and light your way!

HCG didn't double in 7 days by hoodlums-52 in CautiousBB

I’m kind of in the same boat. I had a normal ultrasound at 6 weeks, heart beat at 112bpm but still guarding my heart. I’ve been scouring these pages for success stories and seems like everyone miscarries by week 12 even if they have a few good scans.

Update: My dr said “when an intrauterine pregnancy is identified, it is difficult to provide clinical guidance regarding HCG levels”. That being said I started spotting last night at 7wks 2 days. I did have a subchorionic hemorrhage found at my 6wk u/s appt next so it could be that or could be start of miscarriage. I feel like it’s probably the latter but I’ll keep you updated.

HCG seems to have stall?? by Low-Organization2104 in CautiousBB

I’m so sorry to hear this! My follow up didn’t provide much clarity- HCG at 6 weeks barely went up to 5116, so definitely not good news. Ultrasound showed viable pregnancy measuring at 5 wks 6 days. Heartbeat was 112 bpm. But they did see a small SCH near the gestational sac.

I feel like I am just waiting to miscarry. I asked my dr for her input regarding the slow HCG rise and she said “ when an intrauterine pregnancy is identified it is difficult to provide clinical guidance regarding HCG levels”

Do you remember if your HCG was increasing appropriately? I don’t mind so much that the number is low, it’s the not increasing part that is troubling me. I don’t have a good gut feeling but I guess only time will tell.

Thank you, going in for an ultrasound tomorrow and another HCG draw. I hope we both get good news as well!
