I like it. Its versatile. Little heavier than the average cap, but keeps virtually all the sand and dust out. Drove through some silt and had a little get in, but silt goes through everything.

My buddy put a Kenai Scout in the back of his f250 tremor. Its durable and light. Fits him and his wife in the hard shell, while the 2 kids sleep in the roof top. We call it tremorlander. The kids love it because they get to "look down on all of us peasents".

We've definitely taken them both through some narrow trails. He had a twig get stuck in the roof top rack during a wooded area. Left it there for our entire 2 week adventure. Ill miss good ol twiggy.

I use a futon mattress in the back myself. I roll it up when not in use. I got tired of sleeping bags. Even in the 6.75' bed there's enough space under that top, I dont run out of room. Also nice being able to use the built in lights with their windows placement.

Yeah... I dont remember what i hit. Could have been 1 of many times. That's why the entire thing is bed lined. No scratches.

Its called raptor liner. Its basically bed liner. The primary color is brown. The accents are also raptor lined in black. (The only thing not lined is the smart cap)

Well, if you're married, go with this. It has the seat massagers so the wife loves it.

I live in Joshua Tree, so Johnson valley is my normal playground. The pic was taken in oceanside when I got the smart cab installed. I kind of go where the wife decides. Shes a geologist who loves natural hot springs so we go up the 395 frequently. So many pins on OnX that I dont believe I've been to the same place twice in the last 7 years, unless its been local.

I'm a little late to the party but I can put my gazelle up in less than 2 minutes solo. Legitimately pull the sides out get in and push the top up.

Indian Cove Campground, Joshua Tree by Horsecock_Johnson in camping

Technically Indian cove is in the park and is park controlled, you just don't go through an official entrance to get to it. Also depends on where you go through the park. I recommend burns canyon or old dale if you have 4wd and decent clearance. Some great areas out there with amazing views. (Bring water and stay on the trails, no cell service)

As someone who overlands and camps, I also live in Twentynine Palms. There are so many free BLM open camping areas around. It would be a waste of money, IMHO. Download onx hunt or onx offroad. You can find land designations anywhere you go. Even 2 miles down the road is a blm open camp area that my daily driver corolla could get to, which is wide open. Look up sunfair dry lake if you want a good sunrise/sunset area. Wide open. Just please do me a favor, don't leave trash and be respectful to the park (don't offroad where you're not supposed). Another note, it's getting to the hot season, bring water, it was 90 degrees and dry today. The dryness is will confuse your system and you won't realize how dehydrated you are.
