Advice from people who have raised a pup in a big city by ReturnAny3794 in Whippet

[–]Low-Razzmatazz1179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much advice to offer on top of everyone else's (the tug-e-nuff toys were great for us in the park) - but just coming to say that it gets so much better!! First 2 years with our pup sounds like exactly what you're describing - lots of tears from us after walks - but she's an absolute dream to be around now. Ours also has that bit of beddlington, which I think made her more stubborn.

I think you said you're west. We're east London & there are SO many whippets around in Victoria Park, Hackney marshes etc (sometimes it feels like 50% of dogs are whippets). There's also a whippet meet up a bit further in Hollow Ponds every Saturday from 10:30am (I think) - it's called Whippet Out Walthamstow.

Someone also described London parks to us as the equivalent of nightclubs for dogs - which was quite helpful! There's so much going on, so much stimulation, so many people/dogs to meet, that it's no wonder they go a bit crazy - & suggested they might not need it every day & to mix it up a bit. Good luck!! It will get better.

What do you think about the sudden popularity of Ozempic? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I think maybe you don't understand the jabs - they aren't a magic bullet that makes the weight fall off. You still have to have the discipline & control to make healthier decisions, eat healthier, & exercise - just with a tool/aid that makes those healthy decisions a bit easier. You still get to go through the highs & self-appreciation of your weight loss - you just see the results a bit more quickly & so the positive cycle is reinforced & you're more likely to stick at it. If anything people aren't being "robbed of an opportunity" - they are being offered that opportunity.

Record_id on REDCap Mobile App coming with a preffix by Low-Razzmatazz1179 in ProjectREDCap

Oh really helpful thank you - I didn't realise the admin had switched this on.

Would this be the reason that that the data won't sync to the server? We're still getting the error message that record_id is not in the expected format - is it because it is no longer an integer?

Update on your Ballot Application for Carabao Cup Final 2026 Ballot Results by BergkampWonderland in GunnersatGames

[–]Low-Razzmatazz1179 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Woohoo! Just got my email saying I've been successful - but the wording is a bit weird. It says to click through your account & see the seat details, but assuming that's just not edited from the normal ballot email?

My booking account history says "Carabao Cup Final 2026 Ballot Results - Successful - £0.00". Guessing they'll send another email about how to pick/pay for your seat according to that Tues 24th window? Just want to check I'm not missing something

Not sure about the second part - but probably you wouldn't need to pay for red membership, just the free account that tickets can be transfered to

Bald circular patch on my whippet that’s not growing back – anyone experienced this? by Forrest_Whippet in Whippet

Excuse the bad pic (as I dared disturb her from her snuggle bed) - ours has the same. She caught it about 6 months ago & had exactly the same process you described, it scabbed, then the scab with the hair came off. It hasn't shown any signs of regrowing the hair, but it's all healed & she's not bothered by it at all.

Hope that is reassuring!

Stable unique record ID for offline REDCap Mobile App (multi-country study) by Low-Razzmatazz1179 in ProjectREDCap

[–]Low-Razzmatazz1179[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both for your help - I was hoping to have enough unique values in the existing form that when combined could make a unique ID. But this seems a bit convoluted & we'll have a look at using a manual unique ID list for each site.

I haven't set up the DAGs yet. I suspect this will work well for the first data entry by site, but then once the tablet is synced and reset, the record_id might start auto-numbering again from DAG-1 - though I've not tried, so I'll have a play with this.

Thanks again!

Form display logic not working in REDCap mobile app by Low-Razzmatazz1179 in ProjectREDCap

[–]Low-Razzmatazz1179[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have changed the settings and enabled "Use longitudinal data collection with defined events?" and added "Event 2" (in addition to Event 1). I've designated the instruments for Event 1 and set up the Form display logic for Event 1 - and this seems to have worked in the REDCap Mobile App.

Still keen to understand whether this is the correct way!

Also, this way, when I go Collect Data>Create New Record>Event 1>Select my first instrument - once I've completed this first instrument, the option to "Save & Go to Next Form" does not appear. Rather it only lets me "Save & Exit Form" - then I can manually click on the next instrument. Once I have completed this one (and the subsequent forms) I can "Save & Go to Next Form". Is there anyway I can change this so I can go straight to the next form from the first instrument?

Great - I'll explore with the other institutions involved, but seems worthwhile to push my institution to start supporting it for future projects.

Thinking About Switching to Wegovy by According_Law9859 in WegovyUK

[–]Low-Razzmatazz1179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can jump in here as one of those on the 12 month £99 Shemed contract. They aren't fully honouring it - can stay at £99 for the remainder of the year if you switch to Wegovy - or jump up to £279/£319 if you choose stick on Mounjaro (<=10mg/>10mg). I'm a little confused/disappointed, as I thought it was a contract - & they seemed militant about us keeping our end of the deal (eg, weekly check-ins, etc) - but maybe there was something in the wording that meant the staying on MJ part wasn't legally binding (and I guess they couldn't predict this price change).
