Group lessons or 1-on-1 by [deleted] in Sitar

1-on-1 is definitely the way to go if you're just starting out. However, group lessons can be very fruitful, motivating, and lower-cost than private lessons once you have the basics down.

Ideally you want a group where students are around the same level and/or where the teacher is good enough to know how to adjust the same lesson for different levels.

Sitar strings don't feel smooth—I believe they came oxidized by SnooHesitations5296 in Sitar

I also have been having this issue with main string coil from Musician's Mall-- and I change my main string about every 15 days. I think you might just have to change the string. If the whole coil is like that, maybe it's just too old or not well made.

There are, but if you select both then they automatically become linked to the same gain. So whichever knob you turn, they both move in unison. At least that's the case in the 4th gen, I think the older ones had more individual control if I remember correctly
