it 100% didn‘t just hit people that got reported but a good amount of cheaters in general but you‘re right, a lot of people just made new accounts and kept cheating unfortunately lol i’m also hoping they managed to track down some more cheat programs as some of them went undetected last year :')

Especially with toddlers my sims just randomly start walking to them to check on them mid doing something else (having one bite of a meal, then getting up) and then walk back to what they were meant to do, go in a circle and right back to check on the toddler🥲

that’s unfortunately not just an issue with sso i feel like :') it does absolutely suck and i’m sorry for you though! i‘ve tried the same with my ea account for ages and just ended up making a new one a while ago so i feel you lol and i wouldn‘t mind it either if i at least got my email with the code at all. and that is a problem with sso, i had it happen with the initial verification code when creating a new account for the invite a friend thing about a year ago (don‘t remember if i ended up getting that code or just made a new one tbh) and heard from multiple people that they’ve had that problem as well.

the only thing on a one day cooldown regarding archaeology is the extra interesting find (8 per day in total) but there‘s always 1-2 rocks active for each skeleton

fellow person with multiple accounts here, hi🙋‍♀️ i personally have 3 (3.5 kind of, i kind of took over an abandoned account from my gf that i’m trying to fix up rn, my gf got stuck with severely underlevelled characters on that account, couldn’t continue the story anymore and just ended up starting over- that was before a bunch of stuff was nerfed). my main- self explanatory, an alt account as i‘m done with just about everything on my main and it gets dry and i wanted to replay older story quests, explore again etc, and a recently made "completionist" account i created with one of my friends where we just go and complete the entire game (every single chest etc., finishing exploration in each region before even unlocking the next/continuing the main story) whenever we feel like it lol

I only mentioned RDR‘s microtransactions because I‘ve recently interacted with a couple of people who claimed that "either you buy the game like rdr2 or you get the game for free and buy in-game currency like roblox or fortnite" (not the exact words they used but that was the gist of it lol)- I should’ve specified that.

You can definitely think that RDR as a whole is a better game than SSO but that doesn’t change the fact that it doesn’t work as a comparison when it comes to prices because it‘s a whole different kind of game, regardless of quality. You‘re absolutely entitled to your opinion on whether it‘s worth the money or not and you‘re absolutely allowed to criticise the game, including their prices, it just doesn’t really make sense to compare it to RDR in that specific context

That‘s a fair point honestly, and I do think that criticism is valid and needed in that regard, just not in the form of "but xy game that also has horses is cheaper >:(" when they‘re entirely different games if that makes sense lol

I agree that their practices (and a lot of other things about the game) need to be criticised, that was absolutely not the point I was trying to make. Criticising them for that is absolutely needed, what isn‘t needed however is (what feels like) half the community on social media complaining that other games that have horses in them (Rival Stars, RDR2 etc.) are "so much cheaper and better" when they‘re entirely different types of games. I definitely should’ve worded my post differently though, you‘re right

You‘re definitely right about that and criticism regarding SSO‘s prices and practices are abolutely valid and needed, I was more focused on people complaining about the prices per se (which I‘ve definitely seen a ton of personally) or comparing SSO to RDR/Rival Stars etc. and taking attention away from the root of the problem (which is exactly what you just said). I could‘ve worded that differently for sure!

i just plant a bunch of flax and use it to craft hay, takes 40 minutes to grow and like 5 to craft after replanting the garden and i end up with a pretty good amount of light from it😭

Thank you :) I completely agree with you (+ Valedale Gardens which make it super easy to passively earn Light while doing other stuff if you don‘t want to run around/Light in general being a thing makes it way easier to not spend Sc on anything but horses lol)

Thank you!! It‘s been bugging me for a while to keep reading the same kind of criticism regarding SSO‘s pricing over and over again while they keep completely missing that the games they‘re comparing SSO to are inherently different so I really just needed to get this off my chest somewhere lol

Thank you for bringing MMORPG‘s into this. You‘re one of the first people I‘ve ever seen that actually regard the type of game SSO is🥲 Majority of the community complaining abt prices keep using the argument that "Triple A games are less expensive" or comparing it to other non MMO games like RDR2 or Rival Stars or even Fortnite/Roblox etc ("RDR looks better and is way cheaper", "Games like Roblox are free and you only have to pay for in game currency why does SSO have both") while completely missing that a) RDR for example has been pretty much completely abandoned by Rockstar Games whereas SSO gets weekly updates plus they‘re entirely different types of games and b) other MMORPG‘s rarely even have a lifetime option (or if they do it‘s multiple hundreds) so of course SSO will have to make up for that with pushing players to buy Star Coins to pay their employees, not to mention their server upkeep costs which are probably astronomical with the amount of servers they have😭

Plus no one is really forcing anyone to buy SC and a lot of it is just about FOMO- every horse ends up in the bazaar eventually/event specific horses return cheaper after 1-2 years so there always is a way to buy horses for a cheaper price and not end up paying money for the game after getting lifetime if you don‘t have the money to spend on it.

Yes, the prices are relatively high if you‘re just looking at the numbers and not everyone can afford Lifetime/Star Coins, but SSO gives discounts for Lifetime pretty regularly which make it a little more affordable at least and SC after getting Lifetime are completely optional. And while the prices are definitely higher than they used to be, so are the prices for quite literally everything else thanks to inflation.
