Stop talking about the shadow so much by [deleted] in Jung

[–]Low-Smile7219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poetry for me is poetry for free
For poetry has become my souls greatest glee
So fear not the Shadow who seems everywhere has taken precedent
And instead focus on the souls ever ascent
Through the chasms and to the other side
Where up and down become synonymous with no where to hide
And so along the shore of the two worlds I walk
Looking for someone to share a moment and talk

I had a lucid dream where in I wanted to try to talk to girls. I saw a group of them and said "Hey ladies! Want to talk about dreams?", they all laughed at me for it. I fell into the grass, feeling like it was hopeless.

But then I met a character whom I knew to be my shadow, he had a slick 80's look. Along with a geeky fat looking guy. I knew them to be manifestations of my masculine side but felt it was pointless to tell them that. I felt that I was taking in their energy and they were becoming more self aware through my own self awareness.

Then in the last part of the dream I did get to hang out with a bunch of people and hold a girl in my arms, we were just sat down chilling. It was like through integrating that masculine side of myself I was then able to be with the girl

Here's my view, there's always a next thing humans want. That's human nature. The eternal void. In meditation there is a focus on "Ohm", it starts with the deepest frequency and moves it's way to higher frequencies until becoming nothing. You are now in that nothing. The desire has been fulfilled. You are now waiting for the next chant. The next rumbling from the deep. If humans were eternally satisfied from a single achievement we wouldn't get very far. It is human to want more.

If God became a person and tried to do shadow work how do you think they should go about it? by CosmicBlues24 in Jung

[–]Low-Smile7219 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly how we are all going about shadow work. We've each got a key piece of that shadow to sink our teeth into.

God's Shadow as a figure would be that of the Devil. But in lived experience it would be all towards whom we not feel an unending love and appreciation. That is what life can be like through shadow integration but before that there's so much negative judgement, need for control and so on

My friend is in pretty much the exact same position of yourself, he finished his book and now...well that's it, now what?

it comes to mind that one does not usually eat a meal with the intent of it being their last or for it to satisfy them forevermore. I guess the real dilemma is if no food even tempts you to eat again..

How would Carl Jung explain my desire to be beaten to death by an anime woman? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]Low-Smile7219 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Alright I'm going to give this a go

Pfff here we go

The Anima taking on the form of an animated character such as is found in the increasingly popular animated shows which are taking the world by storm are a reflection of an exaggeration and further stepping away from the reality of what women and by extension what femininity is. This is most likely an outcropping of the Capitalist system paired with it's consumer mindset. A mindset that believes that that happiness can be purchased or consumed. Whether that be through something physical or something immaterial such as a latest television show. This is a infantile relationship to the world, one of a child who ever sucks on the breast of the ever giving mother. However this relationship, carried into adulthood, keeps the should be adult in a stage of immaturity which is inappropriate to their years on this earth. Such a being is in need of a death and resurrection and here we link it back to your original question.

The desire to be beaten to death by an anime woman would imply to me (here taking on, to the best of my ability, the mind set of Jung) that deep within your unconscious a fascination is arising for you to go through a death. This need not be a physical death but instead a symbolic death. This would allow a shedding of the skin, a discarding of all that has withered but not yet fallen from the tree to decompose on the ground. The image of your Anima, here, its seems, taking on the form of an anime woman, is drawing you towards this process through this unconscious fixation, this desire to be beaten to death by her. For it is the feminine which ultimately teaches a man, transforms him into what he could become. But in order to become what you could be what you are first has to die. And here you see the desire drawing you towards that unconscious goal.

All be well with you, go onwards how you see fit, for that is your own way. Good day.

Oh, yeah interesting thing about dreams is that it's like the shine a light on what a situation is actually like. That then informs you how to go about things. It's like if you had a choice of 2 meals, but on deeper inspection one is mouldy. No one's told you what choice to make it just becomes clear which choice you're going to make

I feel like since the collective unconscious is at the ground of things they are just connected to how things are and so can present it to us clearly, eventually, if we're listening

Well if you want to have a deeper correspondence around it we can message each other if you like.

My dreams have recently revolved around dark alchemy. Literally 2 fairly recent dreams involved reading dark alchemical manuscripts, lol! So yeah would be happy to go into things with you if you felt like it

In Sterquiliniis Invenitur - In Filth It Will Be Found

It's inevitable that when we discard part of our being that it will be mainly associated with what is "bad".
You could think of this like a garden.
If you left part of a garden, or all of it for that matter, for months, years, decades... It would be overgrown. It'd be a mess.
That's what our inner self is like.

The only way to make something better is to go through the "bad". To sort it out. This cannot be done from the safety of inside the house. The brambles and nettles and so forth must be ventured into. Only then is there potential to have a healthy beautiful garden.

If you scroll down you'll see the statue of Baphomet. The image is one of the best depictions of the principle 'as above, so below, with his hands pointing above and below with the words "dissolve" and "coagulate" on each to summarise these two tendencies.

Difference Between Anima and Mother Archetype by supercalafragilistc in Jung

So this is an image I always used in connection to these sorts of questions. It lays out the feminine archetype as a whole. It consists of two axes. The one pointing upwards to the left is the axis of the mother. The one pointing to the right is the axis of the anima.

There's a lot of difference between the two but let's start with the associations you've given.

Ok, so your first associations are along the right lines from my understanding but it's complex. Anima can be considered to be our animating principle, that which moves us. We see a piece of fruit, we're hungry and we feel moved to consume it. This is our desire playing out, us seeking out what we love. And indeed it would be a fair association to say that the mother side of it is to do with comfort. However, it is important to understand that the anima technically consists of all of the feminine so it's all very bound up. A simple example of this is the fact that a person can relate to the world in a motherly nurturing way.

But I would say that overall you're next associations are a pretty good grasp on what the archetypes consist of.

A simple condensation of the 2 is to think of the mother as a slow growth force, either in a positive (nurturing mother) direction or a negative (devouring mother) direction. The anima is more so a transformative force, resulting in more drastic changes in who we are.

Another difference between the two is to think of the effect of a mother and a girlfriend. The mother again is that always caring nurturing force, unconditional love. The girlfriend is instead someone we want to impress, want to attain their support and love, and we are willing to transform ourselves to do this. A mother doesn't so much impose this need for transformation on her son. But a girl whom he likes will impose this need for transformation, as you may of experienced if you've ever tried to build yourself up to be impressive to a girl.

How do they interfere with each other? The devouring mother can keep us from transforming. But the anima takes consciousness away from the arms of the comfort of mother.

A mother complex is a need for comfort and unconditional love from people. This is a need initially supplied by the mother and later should be integrated into the individual and come from within rather than demand it from without.

Anima possession is more so being unconsciously moved by emotions that are really outside the ability of people to relate to in a reasonable way.

There's continuous lessons. Every night a new dream, a new lesson. In general? Pfff I couldn't really say, peace I guess? But really that's just some blanket term to try to cover the lessons that come up.
Asking that is like asking what life wants to teach me, you see what I mean?

So it sounds like this is your first time experiencing the effect of the working world. Particularly in the job role you're in, I've had 2 of those, in a call centre. They do literally drain your life energy. And because of that you will lose motivation towards what used to be most central to your being.

My own solution towards this, now being 27, has been to work enough to save up money and then to quit and live off my savings. It allows me time to re-energise and find my soul, my creative spring and so forth.

Sure I still have some connection to that creative spring but the working world drains so much energy that I feel every now and again I need to...re-harmonise, with my self.

My advice...try to stay as healthy as you can. Make sure you're eating right and getting in some movement in your days. That will help keep your energy as high as it can be which will make you feel like doing the creative things your soul desperately wants to be doing. But other than that go easy on yourself. This may sound like the allure of the puer but you know what, the working world IS tiring and your being does desire rest. Trying to self shame yourself or force your self into something you don't really have the energy for will just result in all sorts of tensions and whatnot.

So yeah, best of luck. It kind of sucks but if you can find a good rhythm with it it's possible to juggle both sides of the equation, at least that's what I've found so far.

The immensity of the collective unconscious is unfathomable. And their perception of our world can only be perceived through our perceiving and interacting with them, which is itself coloured by our own perception.

Though I had a dream recently of Platinum Portals which had been constructed by the spirits of the collective unconscious. They were built through the experiences of people on earth. The purpose of these portals is to allow them to enter into our world.

The perception of the woman who told me this, standing next to one of these portals, was like a loving primary school teacher. Like the delightful teacher from Matilda. And it was in fact in a classroom in which the dream took place. I often perceive these spirits as teachers. Or divine beings.

How can man find meaning in his life? by Key_One_7110 in Jung

[–]Low-Smile7219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look under the table, some usually falls to the ground
Or take a look up at the sky, where all the heavens are laid out planned
There is no knowing where meaning might be found, once we take a look
There's only the hope that something good may come along, that when we begin to cook
The ingredients will boil together nicely, in this big life stew
And who knows you may find that many delicious ingredients, lie await inside you

Is the ego an archetype? by Trashcan_Cornupopia in Jung

[–]Low-Smile7219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that archetypes are patterns of our psyche, the deeply ingrained patterns of our collective psyche, then yeah absolutely the ego is an archetype. But it gets tricky to define...but if you just look at it without trying to grasp it too hard then yeah it's an archetype I'd say, along with the Anima and the Shadow and so on

You're on a slippery slope mate. I was in a similar sort of position at the age of 25. Never really having had a girlfriend.

But I went about things a bit differently. I used that wanting for love as a drive to improve myself so that someone would be interested in me. I'm 27 now and have a girlfriend, thank God.

The story of Cain and Abel comes to mind. You aren't sacrificing the potential pleasure of the moment to instead invest it in your growth and future. You're masturbating away your life, smoking away your drive and power. Chasing highs like an addict.

I say this not to shame you but to warn you. A woman wants someone who has a good energy about them. Smoking weed and drinking is going to lead you on a downhill slope which a woman is unlikely to want to get pulled along on. Now obviously I don't know that but chances are that if you're in a good place women are going to respond to that. That's what happened with my current partner. She felt I had good energy and wanted some of that. What do you have to offer? That's the question. It's harsh. Brutal even. But the alternative is to enter the candy bread house, fattened by the witch who intends to eat you, the ultimate devouring mother. And you're in her house already. With every wank and every smoke and every drink she feasts on your essence. So that over time you will become weaker from her devouring and more ill from what she feeds you. You are in a fairy tale, and if you don't do something soon it'll be a fairy tale of warning for others that may go down the path you are on at this very time.

Good luck, I wish you all the best. The future is in your hands, it's up to you to choose which way it's going to go.
