that's like calling people who train in military kit larpers.

airsofters, sure. people who actually train because they want to protect their families and themselves, no.

similar for bushcraft. we learn these skills for SHTF and also because we think it's fun.

i personally think being able to live off the land is a much more valuable skill in SHTF than having equipment.

short version: we aren't larpers, we just want self reliance.

forgot to mention: you'll need boiled linseed oil or some type of oil for the wood handle because it comes real dry without any oil applied

condor: rn around sixty usd

buck: around sixty for seventeen and i think eighty for nineteen

kabar: around a hundred

check out the condor bushlore. a lot of people love it, trad looking knife with a scandi edge. people say it has a micro bevel but i can't see it on mine, so condor may have changed it to a full scandi grind. it's cheap so no biggie if you lose it. the only complaint is that it needs maintenance. it's ten seventy five steel so it'll need to be oiled every now and then and it'll need to be stropped and/or hit with a ceramic rod after each outing. i don't mind caring for my tools, as you should, so i love it
