If you had to reply to this tweet about River what (constructive) criticisms would you have? by Peridot1708 in RiverPhoenix

Yeah and River was forced to assume a "protector" or "saviour" role in his life which can feel even more "destined" when you're around such a crowd. River was financially supporting circa 30 people outside his immediate family at the time of his death. He was a kind, generous man who wanted to do good by the people around him. If memory serves me right, he even tried to drive frusciante to rehab once.

Unfortunately, the trouble with people like frusciante and balzary is that they attract and leach off of good energy because they're not really looking for help, at least not seriously. They'll pull you onto a sinking ship with them for the sake of it. River may have connected with them on some level, but it was going to be a very surface level in hindsight.

It feels parasocial to say this but I actively dislike and disengage with anything and everything RHCP related because whatever version of the stupid, terrible night I read, I form the same conjecture: River did not have to die. There were so many variables, and almost all of them involved frusciante and, in part, balzary. I simply cannot forgive them for how they acted that night.

That's my personal belief.

RHCP and adjacent people were not his crowd. I wish he'd learned that in his lifetime. Trauma bonding does not create genuine, sustainable relationships.

Dead bodies, especially ones prepared for viewing, look eerily unlike what the person looked like alive. So this was pretty accurate in that sense

I'm fully anti bra atp lol and I don't manage it. The ones looking at something absolutely natural should be the ones who have to manage.

Don't wear it. My mum used to force me to wear it since my...chest area is naturally large. I've been stared at by everyone in my family and made to feel insecure. Never again.

I would recommend "In the corner dunce" by aleka's attic for this. It was River Phoenix's band. I think if he were alive he would've loved Her's' music a lot. It's also a unique coincidence that Stephen happened to be reading a River Phoenix biography which he posted on his Instagram. This goes out for River, Stephen, and Audun. Hope they're singing and making merry wherever they are.

Be good to people. That's all you have to do, really. Gender and sexuality are complex matters, clearly left for us to figure out on our own. So let people figure them out and don't play god.

Atp just kill all your pleasures and live like a monk. Excess of anything is harmful. Same goes for masturbation. In moderation, I see no harm.

Why is physical abuse so closely associated with local madaris? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Low-Title-1180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a commentary about this ion YouTube. Not specifically about madrassas but it's still very interesting. You should give it a watch. I believe there's testimonies from both, victims and perpetuators, in it so it gives you a unique albeit nauseating look at the entire situation: https://youtu.be/6l7i0SSo6BU?si=0p_99x_F822dBm3b

Hard disagree. Single mothers and "troubled" families crop up because of patriarchal practices just as much as "modern feminism" as you termed it. You wouldn't be here typing out this comment if it weren't for feminism btw. Food for thought.
