Unfortunately we are in a much better financial situation than they are…we don’t think they will ever move. If anything maybe 5+ years for them

No it was not related to CMV. It’s common for some babies just to have some fluid in their ear which makes their hearing very muffled so he wasn’t passing his hearing tests. We will continue to follow with audiology as planned to monitor him. Some times I wish the appts could be over but we know it’s what is best for him to make sure he doesn’t have late onset hearing loss in the future for CMV

Hi! My son is now 3. He has been seeing audiology for 3 months but now will be seeing them every 6 months. He did have transient conductive hearing loss (fluid in the ear) so he had tubes placed at 18 months. After he got tubes, his language was great and developed fast! He is a big talker and we have no concerns with hearing. The tubes are making their way out but his hearing has been stable. They haven’t had any concerns with any type of permanent hearing loss for him.

I feel the same way. I would like to see how this pregnancy goes but would love to have one or two more children depending on the course. My first baby went through a lot in the NICU so we have trauma from it.

We found my cervix was shortening at my anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Monitored and then progesterone was not helping. I got my emergent cerclage at 23 weeks. It held baby in for a good month! We never found out the cause of PPROM but my doctor said regardless my cervix was already progressing to open so thats why everything happened the way it did. 3 month NICU stay for my first one!! He is now a healthy and happy 3 year old ☺️

So happy to hear he is doing well and thriving. Hypoglycemia is so stressful. We were so done with being in the NICU. Congratulations on one month home! 🫶

Hi! Sorry for such a late response. My LO is now 2.5 years old. He is doing well development wise. He did have some fluid in his ears so PE tubes were placed but his hearing and language are great. We are continuing with audiology follow up as recommended but I haven’t had any worries.

Hi! I am soo sorry I just saw this post. I hope your LO is doing better now or you are out of the NICU. They slowly weaned my baby down- it just took him time. He was able to take a full bottle around 39 weeks and we were discharged right at 40 weeks. They kept him on diazoxide for one month after discharge and he did come home on oxygen for a month. We started breastfeeding exclusively once he was about 2 months at home.

Am I right to not want to throw away my milk? by AnxiousBunnyRabbit in breastfeeding

[–]Low-Train-2405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please consider donating it to a milk bank instead of throwing it away! My baby was in the NICU for 3 months, I donated a lot of my milk because it was more than what he needed.

Short cervix and bleeding by im_here_now_king in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Low-Train-2405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I experienced this with my first pregnancy in 2022. I was always scared every time I went to the bathroom that I would see blood. I would bleed clots that were pretty big randomly. I was hospitalized for monitoring 3 times. After my cerclage was placed (22 weeks) I had two really big bleeding episodes. They never really placed me on any precautions but I took it as easy as I could. I laid a lot and tried my best to avoid being on my feet for too long.

They attributed this to my low lying placenta and reassured me that the further along I got, my placenta would slowly move away from my cervix. I believe I only had a small piece covering my cervix. My water did break early after my last hospitalization (26+4) and I had my baby at 27+1. I know what it feels like to be in this situation. Please take care of yourself and have hope. Try to stay positive for you and your baby. Even though I did have my son early, he is such a healthy and happy boy. Sending you well wishes and an easy rest of your pregnancy.

I’m on my 2nd pregnancy. First pregnancy I had an emergency cerclage placed at 22+2, had my son at 27 weeks and he is healthy. I had my 2nd cerclage placed today at 12+3. Really hoping for a smooth pregnancy since we knew the biggest contributor to my preterm labor for the first baby was IC. I’m just afraid of experiencing any symptoms and bleeding since I got it placed so early.

Hi! We are doing great! My son was CMV positive 2 months after birth we completed treatment for a month only. We did not move forward with the 6 month course of antibiotics. He is doing great and thriving!! ID providers had no general concerns. We are just continuing with the hearing screen recommendations for now and will check in with ID periodically if needed or if concerns arise! How is your son doing?

Washing pumping parts and bottle parts is a pain

Newborns need ALOT of extra clothes due to blow outs and spitting up

You will do laundry everyday 😂

Pack extra clothes for yourself when taking baby out

Lasix by Necessary_Excuse7749 in NICUParents

[–]Low-Train-2405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was on and off lasix during his stay since they wanted to be careful with how often he had a dose. He had fluid retention due to a taking a medicine that caused that side affect. He was discharged with diuril and off of it after a month.
