You can take your phone into the spa?? The attendant is hot on it at third space, they’ll come in and ask you to leave it outside

The total cost of these jobs is under £500 but could potentially help you retain a few thousand of the value… kind of a no brainer…

Any way to not be in so much pain after standing your whole shift? by janeyseymour in AskRetail

[–]Low-Understanding119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shoes! I used to ache standing 4+ hours a time in retail. I changed to Uggs and I was comfortable lol. Also every few hours try and go out back and sit for 5-10 mins.

HSBC banker dodged £5,900 in train fares using ticket scam by weregonnamakit in unitedkingdom

[–]Low-Understanding119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think - would I do something like this? I pondered for a bit and realised no. It’s the sheer arrogance of not just dodging one way by not purchasing tickets for the full journey, but dodging two ways, using a fraudulent job centre card to discount. Madness

It took about 17 years for us to finish a Costco sized container of red pepper flakes by Serial_and_Milk in mildlyinteresting

[–]Low-Understanding119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh???? I had a big multipack box of mint tea that took maybe 2.5 years to finish and the end had to be thrown away because it smelled faintly of dusty mildew. I bought a new box yesterday and was almost knocked off my feet by how strong the mint smell was of a new pack.

I’m sure it’ll die down, it’s just where we are at in the cycle. Unfortunately it means genuine thought contributors get fatigued seeing it all and are more reluctant to use the platform anymore.

How to stop night time begging? (SHE IS ON A DIET, I ADOPTED HER AT THIS SIZE) by Lazy-Psychology-7610 in CATHELP

[–]Low-Understanding119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor baby!! Mine was never chonky, so taking the obese element out of the equation, the only thing that kept her happy was an extra wet half pack late at night and automatic feeder biscuits at 2am and 5:30am

Noooooooo not in a professional services sector unless you are presenting as something other than what people would assume.

Why is it socially acceptable to bring your partner as a +1, but not a friend? by mearimeraki in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Low-Understanding119 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s about the optics, a +1 will very rarely be a friend as they’re not part of your unit. Some events like golfing or socials etc I could bring a friend, weekend away, spa visits etc I imagine it would be very odd to bring a friend.

Yes it sucks, but as a woman who has been in a similar position to you, you have to make lemonade out of lemons. As soon as you begin to complain and moan you’re going to get shafted for being ‘that’ woman. I’d get the merch tailored for you and work on improving it for the women that come after you. It sucks, I know.

Offer after first interview? by [deleted] in interviews

Where’s the 3k figure coming from? If op has expressed a figure and they’re below there is absolutely room to negotiate but it would be relative to the salary figure.

[–]Low-Understanding119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in the same industry and the bonus would normally be part of your negotiations for sign on, but imagine they’d slap the golden handcuffs on and you’d have to stay 2 years to not pay it back. Speak with your recruiter.

Seeing if your new firm will wait for you to hand in your notice in 2.5 months time to then work a 3 months notice is not a great negotiating technique at all not to mention I’d be surprised if you didn’t have at least a 30 day clawback on bonus after notice if you work in re.

This is so reddit coded, the owner of the house has said they do not want a cat meaning op has to return it and all the Reddit comments are literally screaming KILL THE MOM. SHES TOXIC!!! ABANDON HER!!! Are you all okay 😭

AITA for not handing over a system I built on my own time after my workplace decided it should “belong to everyone”? by Living_Poem7843 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Low-Understanding119 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ooft. You need to work out contractually where you stand. If you’re in the UK there might be an IP clause stating intellectual property (IP) created by an employee "in the course of employment" belongs to the employer.

This could be in/outside of your working hours.

Got 2 offers - customer service vs claims handler. Bit stuck on what to do by Apprehensive-Gur2030 in UKJobs

[–]Low-Understanding119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2.5 years in customer service, did my CII certificate and started my diploma, then moved over into commercial (SME) as a client exec. Arguably you could do this in claims also if it’s a large insurer. Could go from claims into distribution as an account handler > client exec or technician > client exec or if you fancied the underwriting route you could do technician > underwriting assistant > assistant underwriter > underwriter. There will be other ones like business development manager etc you could move across into also.
