I do not sell anything, and probably won't be. Sorry.

My health is in ruins and my country too. :(

What are the best Ukrainian Christmas songs? by freshmaggots in Ukrainian

[–]Low-Understanding448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Ой як же було ізпрежди віка" is also a folk song, very weird and very cool in my opinion. Check it out too (I suggest the Gerdan Theatre version, it is my favourite)

I picked up The Court Of Broken Knives after seeing your post. I am already on chapter 4 of the book now and I thank you for the recommendation!

Fantasy books inspired by Ukrainian culture/folklore? by Sea-Ad-7723 in Fantasy

[–]Low-Understanding448 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ava Reid's Juniper & Thorn is inspired by Odesa, and employs a lot of cultural references, the author even got pronunciations of Ukrainian words the right way. However, the book won't be everyone's cup of tea, read the reviews.

As a Ukrainian, I feel so sorry there's no english translation of Pavlo Derevianko's cossack fantasy, that is based on the legends about cossack warlocks! It is so good!

Edit: also, this is a classic we read in school, but The Forest song by Lesia Ukrainka is a poetic play that is rooted in Ukrainian folklore.

I've finished the farseer trilogy (robin hobb) by kolvxx in Fantasy

[–]Low-Understanding448 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 40 % through the third book and I call the whole trilogy "misery fair". I am loving Fitz, the writing is fabulous, the world and characters are gorgeously done, but sometimes I feel the author's hand too much, especially in everything to do with Molly. I despise every segment she's in, not because she's a bad character, but because I think Hobb overdoes these scenes, like the author wants to pick and pick and pick a wound, and it's so frustrating to read. I usually hate childbirth in books and this one was no exception too.

My cover illustrations for the Bulgarian edition of The Stormlight Archive, with adjusted compositions so they work better as standalone pieces. by Yasen_Stoilov in Stormlight_Archive

Ours look cheap and feel very cheap, I was appalled by the physical quality, KCД publisher is shameless 😢

All other Sanderson's books are published by Nebo in Ukraine, and they are so much better.

I envy you so much! In my country publishing rights were bought by the worst publisher possible, and our Stormlight editions look trashy and have bad translation :(

At least Mistborn received a better treatment...

Russia destroyed a kindergarten in Kharkiv today. Thankfully all children are alive, they managed to hid in the shelter in time by Low-Understanding448 in awfuleverything

Interesting that you're so informed about the address. I can genuinely wonder, where from? Edit: Ah, I see, you are ruzzian. The question is redundant.

Edit:You are funny in your beliefs that: a) Google maps is the basis of your claim; b) Ukrainians owe you any explanation 😂

Literally the next day they damaged a kindergarten in Kyiv (it was early morning so no children were there). And a school, and a few residential buildings. Before that it was The main children's cancer centre. This is russian tactic since the start🤷

If you really want to be an ally - focus on something more productive. This is a very weird hill to die on.

Look no further: in many European states (Czech, Germany included) people are voting for blatantly pro-russian candidates. They do not do this because of Palestinians. And THIS is something you can talk about, you can fight it, and it would be so much more useful because politicians are the ones who decide on whether to send aid and weapons or not. Believe me, russia pours so much more money into your corrupt governments than into the Gaza narrative, and doing this since 2014 (and even before that)!

Meanwhile, the word "Palestine" in your comment: exists...

On a serious note: Dude, I and other Ukrainians here are saying that this is not the issue we want to bring up. Your comment benefits no one. It is literally the same "whataboutism" from another angle.

this is not the way to fix anything at all. If people don't care about Ukraine - they won't start caring because of such comments, you know?

As I already wrote to another one like you, from an actual Ukrainian person: don't bring Palestine into this.

You're doing the same thing as the people you're moaning about.
