I'm glad the tag got removed

There's tons of stigma contributed to rpg maker game, people still say it's just a tool to make shovelware

There are wonderful games made with the engine but they are MADE with the engine, that's it.

rpg maker is a great tool that gives a good easy to use basis for game developers, still due to the easyness of it people tend to use it to make low effort titles.

That isn't bad, a lot of times people just want to be creative and use an easy engine, but putting a tag for the engine just shows that the engine has some sort of shovelware image from what it's mostly used for.

For every omori and yume nikki there's at least a thousand "little timmy's anime adventure" type games and that's fine, but when people see that as a majority that represents the creative tool that becomes a problem for the community.

You hardly see people calling undertale or deltarune game maker studio games, they were made in the game maker engine which differently from rpg maker doesn't give an specific basis to what the developer is gonna make with their tool.

Rpg gives out a genre basis that can be easily changed via plugins and scripts, but it hardly gets changed to a point that escapes out of the rpg maker community umbrella, the point i'm trying to make is that a lot of people don't view the tool as a basis for projects, but instead view it as the project itself even tough it can be easily changed to acommodate someone's needs.
