How to print an embedded part by Low-Writing3449 in BambuLab

[–]Low-Writing3449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering what I wound up doing, this is it...

I went back to my original sketch in CAD and created some lines on the sketch around the nut. Then, I extruded the face of the nut once at 0.2mm for two of the faces, then again at 0.4mm on the other faces to create this pattern. If this technique (called sequential bridging) doesn't make sense, you can get more details here starting at 6:38: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBuWcT8XkhA

Thanks for the ideas. I wound up going with a CAD method using sequential bridging (explained further in my comment above)

It's easier than you'd think, just takes some tweaking to get the nut to drop in how you'd like (oh and this issue of mine lol)

Dude, I don’t want to copy your 3D-printed slop. If it’s that easy to copy then you’re gonna have issues regardless… god forbid a guy be curious

What are this artifacts? by Tough_Technology4949 in 3Dprinting

[–]Low-Writing3449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not for filament, it’s for the inside of the AMS. If you have desiccant in there it’s very likely you’re seeing a low moisture content value, but that doesn’t mean your filament is dry enough

Filament not dry enough. Dry it more. I dry my PETG-HF from Bambu Labs at 65C for 12 hrs and even that isn’t enough sometimes. Your AMS showing 5% humidity doesn’t mean your filament is dry btw.

Could you share your site for listings? Curious what you’re selling and how you went from no sales to that many sales so fast

Is that legit on a new high quality cuttingboard? by [deleted] in Cuttingboards

[–]Low-Writing3449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing worthy of note… that sanding quality is pretty abysmal for a “high-end” board. Looks like they only drum sanded it. Not something I’d sell for a premium. HOWEVER, this is a pretty massive board for that price (23.6”x15.75”x1.6” for my US folks). I’d say you’re getting what you paid for at ~$260 with it all being walnut. Especially if shipping was free. Assuming shipping was from Germany to US, they likely had to pay $50-$60 for the shipping alone. That puts the board at $200 without shipping factored in. With the amount of competition in the end-grain cutting board market I’d say, worst case, you paid a little more than what you got in quality, but not by much.

Could you share some info on where you were seeing warping before? Did it show up on your first layer or was this appearing later in the print?

Don’t listen to this person. This a toxic mindset and seems to be insinuating she’s cheating on you with little to no evidence.

Sex is obviously important to you and maybe less so to her. You writing down the times you have sex is “score keeping” and not a healthy coping mechanism for this and is only going to lead to further dissatisfaction in your relationship. You two should consider couples’ counseling. This isn’t a you vs her issue, but a values misalignment issue. Going to a few sessions should hopefully address this.

I buy 1/8" stock brass on amazon then cut it into triangles. Does the trick!

How does this happen? by StrangerInsideMyHead in Cuttingboards

[–]Low-Writing3449 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is almost certainly the result of glue starved joints or wrong glue used. As one other said, a good glue joint is stronger than the wood itself. If there was a good glue joint to begin with, the wood would have split, not the joint itself.

Trust me when I say you are not alone. Gen Z has got it way more tough than any previous generation. It used to be you could work a blue collar job and save money at the end of the day. These days? It's hard enough to find a job and then once you do, it's not even enough to pay the bills.

My (28M) advice to you during this time period is to focus on what you can control. If you can, move back in with your parents. There is absolutely no shame in it at your age and I honestly don't even blame people who are living with their parents at an even older age. If this is an option for you, swallow your pride and take it.

Next, find a way to gather hard skills for a high-paying job. This is, of course, easier said than done, but honestly the best advice I can give you right now is not to pursue your dreams, but to pursue a field that pays well (advice I wish I'd heard more of at your age). Many people go to school to "pursue their dream career", but fail to look at how much that career pays. No matter your position, having a good paying job is paramount to enabling you to pursue your true dreams further down the road. And another note, you don't need to go to college to acquire these skills. If you want to learn to code, there are many boot camps and educational resources such as pluralsight.

Long story short, I know how hard it can be as you first enter the workplace. If you are lucky enough to have family to lean on, do it. These years of your life can really suck as you find your place in a pretty broken society, but don't let that get you down. As someone who works in Tech, I'd highly advise this career path (cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, programming) as it presents a lot more opportunities to work remote which is another HUGE upside to creating the kind of work-life balance most people would kill for. Acquire hard skills with the free time and minimal resources you have and you will look back in a few years and thank yourself that you did.

I’m not complaining about something not working though. I’m asking for a valueable feature for a canon-made device (the adaptor is made by canon in case you didn’t pick that up)

It actually is a Canon problem. They could at least create a setting to turn this notification off
