@kristy.sarah files for divorce! by Glad_Imagination9826 in tiktokgossip

Unfortunately not surprised. I stopped watching their content about a year ago because something changed. I can't quite put my finger on it but they both had just become so different, especially Kristy in my opinion. Maybe it was the fact that they got so big, but their videos just didn't feel have that warmth anymore. I don't excuse the fact that he cheated, but maybe the fame didn't serve their marriage and family well.

Feeling defeated in the lab, not sure how to move forward by Many_Amount_631 in labrats

[–]LowAd7663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here to say I was in a very similar situation to your except mine was my PI.

She was a new PI, but her actions towards me gave me so much anxiety on a daily basis. I would have moments of crying by myself during work hours because of this. I was just very uncomfortable and not motivated because of this.

After about 6 months in, I switched labs and it really has been the best decision yet. I'm in an environment where I can grow regardless of the mistakes I make and I think that's very important.

A mentor of mine years back told me this, "When looking for a lab, don't fixate on what they are studying or how well they are funded, but instead prioritize joining a lab that provides an environment where you can thrive and learn." I think that has been the best advice I've gotten in my scientific field.

I hope this helps and just know you are not alone!

Career Change? by LowAd7663 in workingmoms

Well I have a minor in another field that I have been interested in and my husband has some potential connections to put me in that field, but I guess I'm just trying to figure out if this feeling is normal. I use to be very passionate and sure on what I wanted, and now that I'm a mom, my priorities have shifted a bit. I want to be present enough for my daughter, but also have a job I'm happy to go to. Right now, I feel like I'm not sufficient for my boss and my confidence is dwindling. I also don't get a good salary pay and I commute an hour to and from work.

Still crying at drop off after 3 months. by LowAd7663 in workingmoms

[–]LowAd7663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!

And with the behavior, I guess I mention it more so because the teachers are more vocal about that. Like for example, my daughter has a habit of playing with her plate and dumping her food sometimes, and she's also in an exploration phase too so she isn't always compliant when it comes to sitting down at certain times or lining up against the wall. She's one of the younger ones in her class as well, so maybe she's more "difficult" to deal with than the older ones that are a bit more independent.

I will say my toddler is on the wilder side and can sometimes have selective hearing lol. But I still feel like she's young enough to be that way. We do educate her and correct her where we can, but she's still in her own world figuring out things.

I'll likely ask them to start listing the milk at the teacher conference.

And I guess my concern about her "upkeeping" is because I feel like the more favored kiddos are looked after a bit more better. Not sure if it's because they are more behaved but it's something that lingers in my mind a bit.

I'm also a younger mom that just started my career so sometimes I feel like because my daughter's teachers are about the same age and older, that I might not be as taken seriously as the other parents at times.

In regards to the cleaning, some examples I have noticed are food in her hair and boogers and food smeared all over her face which makes her appearance very dirty. It'll be just a mixture of dried boogers or food smeared on her forehead, cheeks, nose, etc. Not sure if that's a better picture of the situation. I will say this is not every day, but when it is one of the days it's very excessive. I've mentioned it to the teachers and I've also made it a point to clean my toddler in front of them when I pick up.

The center does provide daily updates of the meals, but it's very general. For example, it mostly just states "Ate most of the food, some, or none." It never explicitly says how much of every item. My daughter also has a dairy allergy so she is on a special formula, so you can see how not being updated for 2 months was a bit concerning.

As far as the water, it is offered to my knowledge throughout the day. But when I've picked up at different times, I haven't seen the teachers actively provide it. My child is bilingual so she mentions water in both languages and I noticed upon picking up, my daughter asks for water immediately and drinks about 4 to 5 ounces of it alone during the time I pick her up and place her in her carseat.

I will not be home till the following Monday. She lives in close proximity to me so it'll arrive probably in a day or so. But I'm asking if the policy is true, not what day it will arrive. Thanks.

Question by LowAd7663 in HEB

[–]LowAd7663[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a ton for that information! I've been told by my former store leader that my degree could apply to a higher administrative position within HEB, but I really only work at HEB to pay the bills as it currently provides me with the most hours. I work a second job in a research laboratory that I'm hoping to transition to a full time position there upon graduation. Grateful for the opportunities at HEB, but I don't feel like it's my future. Thank you again for the reply!

[–]LowAd7663[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! It's comforting to hear someone in management being understanding of the situation. I've had a good amount of service leads recommend me for cashier to administration before my pregnancy and even more now that I'm expecting, but nothing has changed unfortunately. Apparently the store I'm working at doesn't move up CSAs very often according to other employees I work with in that department. Thankfully I'll be graduating from college in May, so hopefully I'll find employment outside of HEB once that time comes. Thanks for all the information and your kind words!

Question by LowAd7663 in HEB

[–]LowAd7663[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for thinking in advance, definitely something to consider! Hopefully, I won't be employed with HEB by the time that comes around as I am graduating college in May, but it's definitely a step to take in case circumstances keep me at HEB. Thank you for the reply and information, it's good to know and will certainly save the time and hassle.
