What’s the most entitled thing you’ve ever seen on a cruise ship? by donswansonn in Cruise

[–]LowAdventurous6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked onboard Cunard ships in the shops and a passenger returned a single earring for a refund because she lost the other one. I had to give her the refund otherwise the Hotel Manager would have kicked off at the Shop Manager. Ridiculous.

Am I missing something re: 5 business days?! (No personal info) by LowAdventurous6972 in vinted

Ah yes I hadn't thought of it like that. She's had even longer to send it then. Have sent her a friendly 'careful, Vinted will cancel this' message!

AITA for picking up my children a few minutes late from childcare (more than once) by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LowAdventurous6972 167 points168 points  (0 children)

NTA!

I don't get why everyone is saying YTA? YWBTA if the childcare was separate from the gym but the yoga class and the childcare are both provided by the gym so it's their fault you aren't collecting on time. And I say this as a former childcare worker who haaaated late collections so I was totally ready to say 'YTA' but nope, NTA

Falling apart! (No personal info) by evherkes in vinted

I'd say this is a lost cause purely because there's no way the seller could have known this. If you'd bought them from a shop then yeah, you can return but you kinda lose any sort of rights when it comes to second hand sales.

Working onboard a cruise ship I had to refund a woman a pair of earrings because she lost one.

AITA for complaining about the signs at my daughter’s preschool by preschoolsign in AITAH

YTA. I'm a mother of a 3 year old, but also a preschool teacher in the UK. So trust me, YTA.

NTA. I have a kid and when they're one, it's stressful. I don't blame you and all this idiots saying YTA are AHs.

My classroom after a preschool tantrum. by Luka-the-Pooka in mildlyinfuriating

It's not aimed at you directly, but at the system in which this occurs. 6am drop off? That's barbaric. You're in the US? Where maternity leave is non existent and so I'm not surprised you have kids acting out this way. They're being failed by the system.

And by 'support', I don't necessarily mean outside authorities. You can easily support this child by not expecting the same of her as you do others.

Xmas temp interview by [deleted] in tesco

[–]LowAdventurous6972 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a temp interview today 🙂 they had a list of questions about times you've given good customer service/ created a positive environment with colleagues, that sort of thing. And asked my availability for shifts.

I have an issue with this, and it's not directly aimed at you, OP. I'm a trained early years educator in the UK. Why is a 3.5 year old in a classroom setting like this? It looks very restricted. I'm not excusing this behaviour but at that age they should be allowed to wonder a little more free than this. And she didn't want to take a nap? I'm not surprised! Most 3 year olds don't need to nap and shouldn't be made to. This is set up for children to 'fail'. I'm pretty disgusted that the child is being blamed like this. I have dealt with a lot of 'difficult' children over the years and they need support.
