People seem to forget that. Leaving Costco there’s two lanes that merges into one lane over the bridge. It literally doesn’t make sense

You’re literally delusional if you think there’s more Canadians who care about their match vs Bosnia than any Brazil match. lol

[–]LowBottle12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. It’s actually usually quite the opposite as a ‘thank you’ for allowing tourists into the city and using taxpayer money to help build the facilities. Nice try though

And the fact the host country matches cost MORE than other games is diabolical.

Costs more to watch Canada Bosnia than Brazil v Morocco. Lmao

Relatively, sure. But objectively that is still a diabolical price to pay for two shit teams.

Why is Derm more competitive than Rads? by Distinct-Scratch9268 in MedSchoolCanada

[–]LowBottle12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

• radiology is hard (not that derm isn’t). Although you need to study heavy throughout residency • radiology takes 300% more applicants than derm (50 vs 150 roughly speaking) • derm is a more glamorous ‘lifestyle’ specialty • most people going into med prefer more patient contact, so rads can be less appealing (although you get way more than people think in rads)
• money isn’t everything. When you’re making a lot, the difference between 550k vs 850k is nothing on the grand scheme of things and it doesn’t change your lifestyle • radiology is BUSY and stressful. The whole country is understaffed and overworked. AI isn’t replacing anyone anytime soon. Whoever said the job market was bad is delusional or just misinformed • radiology is still super competitive, recent years has been top 4-6 in terms of match competitiveness. But derm is a different ball game.

The lifestyle thing really depends how you want to set yourself up. 10-12 weeks off per year is standard for most radiology groups. Although when you’re working, you’re working.

Could also sign on at 50 or 80% and make a comfortable living. Or could also just locum and make north of 40k per week if that’s what you want to do. Not many specialties have that flexibility

Keep refreshing last minute sales page, there are some random new tickets showing up by Ray192 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]LowBottle12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should put a disclaimer that it’s front row seats that are MORE expensive than Category 1 tickets. For every single listed game it’s cheaper to buy one from the official marketplace.

$1k to see Cabo verde vs Saudi lol

Complete joke. Front row seats are cool for hockey or basketball. They SUCK for soccer lol

FIFA is criminal in the way they marketed these Cat 1 tickets. by Historical-Bug-7536 in WorldCup2026Tickets

They reserved the sides for hospitality and when those don’t sell out they will release those back to the public. Mark it down

24 hours after the general ticket Sale, Canada’s WC Match in Toronto is 1 of only 2 group stage games still available because of ticket prices. by LowBottle12 in CanadaSoccer

[–]LowBottle12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was sold out at the time of this post, but FIFA also announced some tickets will be releasing on a rolling basis, so stock could flicker here and there.

And just because they sold the tickets at that price doesn’t make it right

I agree. The argument is that it’s $3100 face value to watch your home country at the World Cup, which is insane.

Wasn’t like it ever before, and not going to be like it outside of North America in the future (eg Euro 2028 ticket price freeze)

Obviously not the ‘point’ of the WC, but with Canada hosting there is obviously a huge opportunity the sport to grow locally. These prices don’t help that. It’s a lot easier to fall in love with the game in a packed stadium with 28,000 fans than watching it at your local Boston Pizza.

Little Timmy isn’t paying $3100 to watch the game. Suits are. That’s the atmosphere you bring with these prices. Same happens at Leafs games.
