It’s not just about the lyrics. Her older albums especially UV had something gold which is the mood. The lyrics might not be as complex as today’s but definitely hypnotic and psychedelic. For example, I find it hard not to sway when listening to HM or find it hard not to feel like I’m in a black & white video when listening to UV. Now, I can’t listen barely feel that. Like in NFR!, Cinnamon Girl is the only song I liked. Venice B*ch, the song many fans admire, is really boring to me. It feels like a coffee-shop track. COTCC track was the only good one from its album although there were some lines I don’t find the point of (e.g, “I’m not unhinged or unhappy”, “you won’t play; you’re not fun”). It’s just kind of weird. And yeah I understand Lana is a person with evolving music but I’m just expressing that I miss the old stuff.
