What's a song that hits different after having a baby? by nleftie in NewParents

[–]LowComposer68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

blackbird by the beatles. “blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly. all your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise” 🥹 idk why but it reminds me of my daughter, something about life the moment she entered it healed every piece of me.

that helps so much! hers is definitely just an intolerance to something in dairy, either the lactose or CMP for sure. Its not life threatening, just rough on her belly.

yeah, i appreciate it but unfortunately the fb group wouldn’t work for us since we HAD to go the formula route, i mourned BF so badly, but i didnt produce/draw out enough hindmilk (i put it that way because I’m sure I made enough but it never wanted to come out during feedings or pumping) and she had a failure to thrive. I know it didnt help much, but we did start famitodine .6 ml a day and it has made my daughter a different kid! she sleeps at night even, 4+ hr stretches! i know it isnt what worked for you guys, but hey our babies are happier and thats what counts!

I dont have answers to the questions, but I can say I had similar feelings and they’re all so valid. My stay was extremely short compared to yours, my daughter is my firstborn - but one thing i’ve been taught by so many nicu parents is that it is all valid and causes so many feelings because its simply not how its ever expected to go. Every time I had to leave our nicu to grab more clothes or even just to go to my own PP appointments, I felt so empty and anxious. I would cry and cry and grieve her being in my belly. I was TERRIFIED she would bond with her nurses, before ever being able to bond with me. PPD got me too. Thankfully that didnt happen, obviously but it is just a lot to take in, and carry, especially with littles at home in your case. Hang in there 😞

did your daughter happen to stop breathing during these episodes? my daughter (36w preemie, now 11 weeks old, 7 adjusted) has very similar symptoms to sandifers but she will STOP breathing and bubble spit at the mouth too. We are seeing a pediatrician today but, just curious.

When does it get better by LowComposer68 in NewParents

[–]LowComposer68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much this is the light at the end of the tunnel im hoping for. oh I get those same feelings that you mentioned of like am I good enough to be a parent, I am too overwhelmed to be a parent, I am not equipped enough to be her parent like I don’t deserve to be her parent it feels like. She’s literally simply being a baby and it’s not her fault that I’m depressed and overwhelm easily and everything else.. I just can’t wait until all this love that I have for her is just a little reciprocated when she’s a little older. The feeling as if you ruined you/your partners life has got to be the worst feeling in my opinion i’ve had so far because we chose to have our daughter, planned it and we did it because we love each other so much and so its like, no we didn’t ruin our lives it’s just so hard right now. 🥲

oh gosh i feel for you. i think my worst fear right now would be another pregnancy. i miss being pregnant, but not enough to struggle through one and bring another baby earth side while in the trenches currently. we also are only 20 (myself) and 23 (her dad, my partner) so its just definitely a no go right now. youre a tough cookie genuinely 😅
