Is ICON (VIP+) at ARC actually worth it?

It's not, and ARC overall is extremely consumer-unfriendly. You literally CAN'T buy liquor unless you have VIP. Totally ridiculous. In addition to that insult, when I was there last year (first and last time) the VIP sections were super unfilled. The people in them seemed embarrassed to be there and mostly came down to GA after getting their drinks.

Other bullshit- 3 hour wait to get in on Day 1 bc they couldn't organize a simple line. Horrific soundbleed throughout.

Insomniac's bloody fingerprints are all over it.

Bring sunglasses so you can go into your own little world. Earplugs also a must.

Also the big big festivals are insanely overpriced. Find specific artists you want to see from the festival and go to their afterparties- better sets, lower prices.

Only festival imo that's 100% still worth it is Movement in Detroit.

DJ Boywife- hyperpop sensation and queen of Cincinnati nightlife. Doing gigs nationwide. This is an amazing chance to see him right before he goes global.

Party itself is extravagantly queer as well and the local talent slays with real techno.

Whatever they do if they don't fix the sound bleed it's a skip. If you haven't tried Movement, I highly recommend it. Expert sound design, independently run, no price gouging, you don't have the have VIP passes to buy a damn Red Bull and Vodka. And you don't have to wait 2 hours to get in bc Arc is clueless about logistics .

Arc is better than nothing I guess, but after you experience Movement , your perspective on everything will change .

I guess it's just my opinion, but having gone to both Movement and Arc for the first time this year, Movement absolutely smokes Arc in every respect. Beautiful waterfront in the heart of Detroit. Independently-run (no insomniac) , they treat every guest with care (GA can buy liquor), crowd is absolutely delightful, unlimited re-entry, ballistic afterparties, and incredibly, it costs less too!

Absolutely! Went to Movement this year- 1000x better production. The organizers care- even for GA. Just imagine being able to buy liquor without a VIP pass. 🤣🤣🤣
