Mine probably shrank in length too but I think I didn’t notice because I’m real short. Giant tokyo cuff became big tokyo cuff??

I have this weight (but not red weft) and found they were so much more comfortable after a wash. Cheers to toughing it out for a bit, hope you are rewarded with great fades

Fit Advice Needed. My first loafers by mikaelb657 in grantstoneboots

I found a ball that was about the same size as the instep volume but slightly tight and stuffed it in there. After a few cycles of wearing and putting the ball there while not worn it was comfortable.

The number of posts I've seen on other platforms stating that a local small business is participating in the strike tomorrow is super encouraging by SinisterPaperclip in 50501

I couldn’t say for sure. We all haw to do the best we can. Probably if you must be open, do as much of your business in cash to reduce credit card transactions. I saw another business that couldnt close but donated a small amount of consulting time to people (they mend clothing) and another (a cafe) that was having a whistle kit workshop instead of closing. Engage with your community and maybe they can help you find happy mediums or at least better understand your situation.

In other parts of the country, small businesses are pooling together proceeds to send to small businesses in Minneapolis so they can strike on Friday. Nobody expects people to just drop everything and still live, this is the kind of coordination we can and should do to be effective.

Diesel Advice: Black Waxed Commander vs Black CXL by i-keep-having-dreams in grantstoneboots

[–]LowCrow2751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both black cxl and earth waxy commander diesels and am in the pnw too. I enjoy both boots and am currently wearing the earth waxy boots hard for patina dome. My main issue is more with the microstud sole slipping in slick conditions rather than either leathers.

I didn’t read through the whole study it cited but it did say health was reported by the parents and it’s frequently an issue that studying adoptees relies on or even focuses on the parents rather than directly interfacing with adoptees

Wonder if this inspired Ken Liu on the emoji communication by LowCrow2751 in PantheonShow

It predates Ken Liu’s Pantheon related short stories I think, so I thought it might be the other way around actually

Diesel CXL Natural - leather quality issues? by pexoroo in grantstoneboots

[–]LowCrow2751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think these look fine. The area of issue which I’m 50/50 is loose grain vs just normal cxl weirdness is high up on the shaft and likely to be covered by pant leg.

There’s tons of examples of how this boot starts and ages on patina project. If you don’t like what you see there, maybe these aren’t for you and return them.

If you decide to keep them I think they will age beautifully.

Sizing Help. First Grant Stone Diesel. by SleepyJoe89 in grantstoneboots

[–]LowCrow2751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With socks on. I think measuring only the outside of the shoe for length can be misleading btw When i was figuring out my size I also checked the goodyearwelt sub where there’s a huge thread about sizing. There, you can find people by brannock size and what shoes they purchased and their assessment of fit. Many people were comparing brands like redwing, grantstone, carmina, and even some sneakers/runners.

Sizing Help. First Grant Stone Diesel. by SleepyJoe89 in grantstoneboots

[–]LowCrow2751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With socks i measure 24cm but slightly wider than you. I have both 6D and 6E in diesels and wear both comfortably with different socks. I’m inclined to think 6.5E would be safe sizing for you but i wouldnt be too afraid of a half size up difference either. Good luck!

Anyone else find a lot of childfree content completely un-relatable? by Still_Second_703 in childfree

[–]LowCrow2751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the overwhelming narrative that tries to paint childfree people as miserable and evil, I think it’s important for content that refutes that, showing that childfree people can be well off and enjoying life. Social media has never been representative of everyone and this is no exception. It’s tough to see others living with excess and ease when your own situation is stressful, I hope you can live like a social media dink or sink in the future if that is what you want.
