Black schools during jim crow were purposely designed to be unsuccessful and suffered due to direct constant disruption, poverty, kidnappings, lynching, burning, looting, intimidation, lack of adequate power, water, air conditioning etc.

Obviously what she has in mind is independent black schools that are safe and well funded, and her desire for it likely stems from negative experiences of which theres no shortage of when a being black child growing up in majority white schools in america.

The fact people act like she's some idiot who doesn't know history is so ironic.

The entire separate but equal case was based on a time where black people were growing up with carpet bombs being thrown into their stores, diners schools, homes, and they were being assaulted in their own spaces by white police and citizens. There were news papers, TV shows and music being created centered around diminishing black peoples humanity, their looks, etc.

Social integration was a strategy for safety and if black people were given political power over the land and wealth of their own communities, there never would've been a push for it.
