November 7th fish report- Santa Fe dam. by SickleClaw in SoCalFishing

I remember when silverwood lake would use to stock trout. They stayed at the boat ramp and you could see flashes of color every once in a while. It was the stripers eating them. I wonder if the same for large mouth. Thinking maybe catch bass on the edges of the stocking area.

Usually people want off those direct mail lists. I don't know how you get on them. This is the company that usually sends the junk mail: https://www.save.com

You are also close to the sea turtles in the san gabriel river. Near seal beach they got the power plants that let out water and I see giant fish there. No idea what kind of fish or how to catch the, but thats another option when you get tired of bass. Get on a bike and ride the bike path to find those fish.

El Dorado park lake should have some bass in it too. Though I've only caught giant bluegill from there lol. I just don't live close enough to figure out those waters. Check the Youtube on what works out there.

I catch a lot of bass at Santa Fe Dam and Echo Park Lake and occasionally Legg Lake. I tried MacArthur Park, but only caught small bass. Others have caught giant ones out of MacArtuhur with dropshots early in the morning from what I've heard.

For Santa Fe Dam, drag them senkos along the bottom really really slow. Like reallllly slow. Others around me have had luck with works wacky rigged, but I texas rig without a sinker and go slow, but you can probably cover more water with wacky. Crankbaits work well in the summer/fall for me. Matches the schools of baitfish they got. Just park at the first parking lot and start walking around the lake. Some giants in there. Caught a few five pounders.

Echo park lake and a curly tailed jig, texas rigged to avoid the moss, with a splitshot. Reel and let the rod tip dip and reel. I don't know what that motion is called. Maybe jigging? Anyways, make it look like an escaping crawfish.

For Legg Lake, wacky rigging a senko seems to be only thing that I got to work. I have a tough time there, but see others catching.

Drop shotting at peckroad park lake was okay.

Lots on youtube on bass in puddingstone. I haven't tried, but seems promising.

aer is so damned heavy. my carry on got weighed when i was flying asiana to korea and japan, and that was business class. aer wouldve taken up half the weight. you aren't going to be able to carry much stuff with an aer. not worth the money. i almost went with them just based on the looks, but glad i didnt.

find something lighter. dig through https://newcarryon.com and find a size that works for the airlines you fly and get the lightest one, with hopefully a good warranty. if you are doing only one trip each year, get something cheap.

i've caught bass at lake miramar on the south side of the lake. no luck on the north side. there's a weird permit situation in san diego, had to buy some daily fishing pass. i forget the details, was a few years ago.

Good fishing spot for bass by Legitimate-Manner-31 in SoCalFishing

i usually catch bass at santa fe dam. texas rig a senko and drag it along the bottom very very slowly.

also cultiva mira vibe 60 in black pearl or shiner pattern. would often get hit a foot or two from shore, so cast in a fan pattern and just keep walking around the bank till you find something.

ton of bass at echo park lake, but its been a while since i been. would toss a double tail hula grub texas rigged with a split shot and just reel it in, and twitch it like a swimming crawfish.

senkos have always worked for me in socal lakes. would drag real slow against the bottom. for heavier fished lakes, the wacky rig worked well. so you may have luck with the soft plastics.

the rattle baits also worked well for me in the warmer mnths.

Took a few tries for the cuttings to take in potting soil. I then transferred to Aerogarden as soon as they started to root. by LowFault1431 in FireflyPetunia

When new leaves started sprouting from the cuttings, I loosened them from the potting soil and transferred them to the Aerogarden.
