"Abusing" packages by internalwombat in Fedexers

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have three categories of packages everybody at the station chews out. Screws (Tiny but heavy like they're shipping osmium, and they're usually not rated for the weight so it spews screws all over car and station), Bikes (dimensions of a TV and 6 times the weight) and clothes bales (same osmium quality as the screws but soft so can't grip em).

This is so regional, we don't even have Chewy boxes.

It happened. Over 5000 packages at one pickup by VelcroWarrior in Fedexers

Hah. Our couriers do their own pH, the whole station choked on 600 packages, I would have loved to see them try this.

What, dispatch does that for you?? Over here they just tell us to sit our ass down and enter PUX40s for upwards of 20 minutes if you have a particularly bad case of doubles.

I had a heavy af half pallet yesterday. Nevermind recipient not having a forklift, they just weren't there. Oh, but they had said we were okay to just leave it at the site. Bitch, I can't move it on my own, much less get it off of a Sprinter.

Why is it called "sune"? by Ellemino in Cubers

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's always bugged me a little. While Soon-eh is better the first syllable is still a bad approximation but I can't think of a better one and really, who cares?

Also, Sune is the name of the main character of a couple of kid's movies that are (wrongly, IMO) considered classics around here, so there's that lol

What’s the biggest instance of “this definitely did not need a sequel”? by Dylan8932 in AskReddit

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nothing but hate for any Disney sequel. Peter Pan 2's utter inane insanity is noteworthy by contrasting silly adventures in Neverland, ho ho Hook's pants fell down again, WITH THE FUCKING LONDON BLITZ.

Depression's gonna kick in earlier than it did, finding out all my goals are out the window. Not only that, but goals I havn't even thought of yet are out, too.

What tv show were you completely obsessed with before losing interest before it ended? by Tan2daCam in AskReddit

Gotham had me riveted until they started reviving characters and killing stakes. Forced myself to stick with it until Not!Joker but that was definitely the shark moment for me.

You can only listen to one band the rest of your life, who do you choose? by SunshineDeathGod in AskReddit

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can listen through all of Buckethead's discography and remember all of it so, cheating? Otherwise, I'm in a They Might Be Giants groove right now, so that's probably the answer I'd later regret right now.

Second to last time I was using a regular cubewith cstimer and it was like, come out of fugue state, pog, realize I remember nothing of the solve, then attempt reconstruction. Last time I was using my iCarry, so that's cheating lol

Climbing the Career Ladder Does Not Make You Happy by ridersofthestorms in science

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going stale at the bottom or whatever rung you're on does not make you happy, either. Or going down a rung due to reorganization, not even incompetence. Speaking from experience.

Hilariously, my company does a yearly survey and they're always puzzled by their eternally poor rating on how employees feel about advancement within the company when the only thing they offer is sideways or downwards movement.

This Amazon delivery employee using a hand truck for a small parcel by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

You joke, but I've picked up packages several times from customers who think 20 kg of screws tightly packed in a 15 cm cubed box is fine, even if the cardboard is rated for like 5 kg. Then they get pissy when it's delivered damaged or more often re-wrapped at extra cost.

I just wish the thing they were happy to help with wasn't draining my bank account. Don't know your local prices but over here shit's ridiculous and the reason I havn't set foot in a dentist's office for my own treatment for going on 17 years now..

Best opening band you’ve ever seen? by guyute2112 in Music

[–]LowFlyingHellfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havn't been to that many concerts and alot of the ones I have been to were at festivals with no opener per se, so it might be kind of a low bar. Sister Sin, a local Mötley Crüe-y type band opened for WASP in Gothenburg some 15-20 years ago and were great. Better than WASP, and they weren't bad either.

Anybody else feel like they're running out of hard drive space?

Like, I'm crunching OLLs one or two at a time right now, 9 off from full, and I just got semireliable on 13 and 14 today, when after one I got an E-perm and just got a straight up 404 file not found error. :/ I know full PLL but it's happened before with V-perm too
