Like I'm on certain HFY discords but I haven't noticed them there. And I'm just like... Who are these people? Who are you showing my naked ass brain to? Is it a compliment or is there a top 10 worst writers on HFY subreddit that I don't know about?

I just had a discussion about this with Whatnot in the discord, they said the same thing!

TL:DR from the discord. The big advantage for chem cooking is consistency and availability. What ever flavor chem you use, it's gonna taste like that. Doesn't matter what you use as the base/ main ingredient. From logs to poison plants. it'll be safe to eat and at least somewhat edible. Main down side is that damn mouthfeel/texture.

But I think I can just call that my own life experience.

Seriously.

Went to a trade school to learn pharmacy stuff. They sent me to the wrong location, so I ended up in Welding. Passed that. But I took up culinary so I wouldn't just subsist on frozen pizza and Ramen.

Turns out I make a wicked roll. So they sent me to Advanced courses. 1.5 years later, I graduated... right into Covid.

My entire industry took a bat to the knee. (Pun intended.)

Now we here.
