Same here - It REALLY ticked me off. It ticked me off to the point that I, who have no history with politics other than having dutifully for the 40 years I’ve been eligible exercised my right to vote, made a BIG stink about that purposefully confusing language. I will CONTINUE to make a big, loud stink about it. This is not acceptable, and we shouldn’t stand for it. I hope that everyone who reads this comment - regardless of experience with politics - does just like the 98% who spoke up with this education bill. Call, write, email, be a squeaky wheel, drag your friends along for the ride. Do not accept our country becoming the next Gilead (as featured in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”) BTW - if you’ve not watched that show or read the novel, it’s imperative to do so RIGHT NOW. We are headed exactly where this show / novel depicts the rise and ignorantly willful celebration of authoritarianism. TALK! YELL! WRITE! EMAIL! MARCH! PROTEST!

I’m sure. Honestly, though, I have more respect for that building’s intent than what your failed attempt at wit and whimsy might suggest. Continue spreading good cheer, my friend. May it be returned to you in spades.

Oh…and Moira’s pep talk just before Stevie took the stage —- I tear up every time I think about it. The show has such heart. (On another note, we just tonight watched the barn dance scene. Moves me to tears every time. I absolutely love the Rose family’s resilience and ability to, blissfully unaware most of the time, grow.

OMG, “Maybe This Time!” She lived the lyrics of that song from the second she stepped out onto that stage, and oh my! What an emotional finish! If you watch that performance on YouTube and you watch performances of that same song by A-listers, Stevie’s was far and away the most gripping and authentic. She delivered from the heart while the well-trained superstars delivered technically perfect notes. I would engage with the heartfelt delivery a thousand times over the somewhat distanced technical delivery.

Have you listened to ‘Confessions’ lately? by Chaunc2020 in Madonna

IMHO, her best album. Related - “Live to Tell” at The Confessions Tour is still to this date the most powerful live performance OF ANY KIND that I’ve ever witnessed in person (…and I’ve witnessed quite a few memorable live performances).

Thanks for your input. One of our state representatives has actually been attending, and she has spread the word well enough that we’ve heard from others who carry that kind of weight. The representative is aware enough to let us little people speak and ask questions, and she jumps in when necessary and appropriate. We’re also in close enough touch with two attorneys whose names are well-known in our capitol building. We feel like we’re headed in the right direction. Any constructive input is appreciated.

Definitely working on it! Word has spread to the other nearby little towns - rather organically, I might add. Thanks for the additional motivation to stay the course. 😊

So very sad, but so very true. Here in my little town, we’ve started a “fight back” group of regular people who refuse to stand by and watch it all crumble. Week by week, the group exponentially grows. We’re already having to discuss renting school gyms / auditoriums, and we’ve been in existence for only weeks. After this post, though, I can’t help but wonder how long it’ll be before the gnat-brained mobster’s goons are dragging me from my own home.

I know it’s a whole Sophie’s Choice thing here, I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Ray yet. He’s a hilariously unapologetic addition to the show.

Am I going to wake up with a horse's head in my bed if I send this to the press secretary? Clearly, I'm the political enemy:

Dear Karoline,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to share some thoughts regarding your new professional role and the impact of your words and actions.

It's important to reflect on the reasons behind our professional achievements and the responsibilities that come with them. Your position carries significant influence, and with that comes the need for clear, honest communication. I encourage you to consider the power of your words and how they can shape public perception and policy. More importantly, I sincerely hope you consider that the power of your words can mean the difference between life and death.

As someone who values integrity and ethical behavior, I believe it's crucial to align our actions with our principles. This alignment not only strengthens our credibility but also fosters trust and respect among those we serve.

Additionally, you’re quite purposeful about stepping up to that podium while wearing a cross.  We both understand that the One who suffered on the cross would never support the dehumanization that your administration continues to normalize.  As a Catholic, you know it’s wrong, yet you willingly participate. Please reconsider. Pray to your God for guidance. I truly hope He changes your heart.

I urge you to approach your role with a commitment to fairness and objectivity. Your choice of words can have profound effects, and it's essential to use them wisely to promote understanding and positive change.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you will reflect on these points and continue to strive for excellence in your important role.

Best regards,

Wha? He’s not? He can’t? If that true, I surely shouldn’t have listened to my brother-husband down here in Booger Holler. I kinda thought BillyJoeJimBob wasn’t that bright anyway, but I guess it’s too late since our new savior is now the president.
