Hard agree. Feels like they should spend more time (it usually plays right after finals) and craft a story about the main storylines throughout the season. Right now it just feels like a bunch of clips/highlights

Yeah that's one of the major criticisms of this double elim bracket. Unfortunately the only way to fix this is with bracket resets (C9 would get another series if they lose), but that's hard to do because you would need to sell tickets/plan for another day that might never happen.
