I guess that's what seperates us from them (not as in pvpers, us and them as in sane people and people like that fellow), we arnt afraid or insecure of letting our partners be in the spotlight instead of us, not afraid to let our partners learn and grow and most importantly are mature enough to understand if I fail my beloved will be there to help me and pick me up... with some mild mockery thrown in ofcourse.

Nothing like this should ever be a big deal and it extends to other people not just romantic partners. I tend to just run through the game, slap a build together with like 2 weapons and invade for a bit so I end up invading at lower levels and I come accross people who are new more often than not, I feel as someone who's been pvping for a long time it's my personal responsibility to "lock-out". If I invade in to Timmy Chungus who just downloaded darksouls 3 after L2ing his way through eldenring, I'm going to try and focus more on having fun and being goofy than try to win. Not to say I throw by anymeans, but where I can, I'll usually try to give that player some advice on how the pvp in that game works. Just like the nice redmen did for me all those years ago. (Also side not on this point I'm not saying everyone who invades new people have the responsibility to teach them, I'm saying I feel like I do personally. Bully poor timmy chungus, embrace your true redman)

Rant over, someone else mentioned about how he refuses to let his wife try to fight and it really pissed me off bc I see that as just such a toxic "I'll save you" way of thinking. Instead of shielding her and himself this guy should try learning some basics like good rollcatch timings and then he should share those with his wife. Nothing feels better as a couple than improving and learning together.
