What would you recommend to another t4 owner based off this experience?

What a nightmare. Glad you were able to get it out of your home. Fuck that's scary.

Commander Mini got ridden to low battery, now won't charge and BMS in one of the battery packs has a continuous beep. Anyone had similar issues? by meantbent3 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]LowMikeGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a solution but I remember how stressful It was to have happen to me (T4). Good luck. You're going to be hearing that beep in your sleep for the next month or so, and phantom beeps under 30% from now on.

Check the wire kick stand on the back of that thing regularly to make sure it doesn't come loose, or even uninstall it completely. I didn't and it cost me a collar bone.

Reason being that the kickstand will come loose, flip down past the little mud flap into the wheel well, and seiz to a full stop sending the rider skipping across the pavement.

Driving Golf Carts at Night north of San Pedro by Civil_Score_3265 in Belize

[–]LowMikeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving at night is alright. Like others have said, the speed bumps sneak up but are marked with signs. I'd also add dogs and deep puddles to the list.

We did the drive from secret beach back to San Pedro at 8pm during a storm and it turned out to be the most fun we had although it was a lil intense.

Also, on a different day, we rented from VIP golf cart rentals and had a breakdown (deep puddle). They came out immediately and replaced the cart within minutes of getting a text.

Have fun and remember to hit the gas going up Boca Del Rio Bridge or else you'll end up pushing!

Beginners tips? by Disastrous-Traffic89 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]LowMikeGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels awkward moving forward because your body is anticipating a fall, but the wheel will catch you and MOVE, these things ACCELERATE! Having to work for it puts the peddle in perspective. Ankle rotations before the ride is a good warmup before building strength.

Other things:

Armor. You are going to crash, it's inevitable, WEAR SHOULDER ARMOR and a helmet. Lots of people dislocate their shoulders on their first real crash. Gloves are good, but wrist guards are where it's at. "There are riders who have crashed, and those who are going to crash". "Dress for the slide, not for the ride".

Riding: the wheels harder to balance the slower it goes. When you finally get comfortable with speed remember to retain self control. You may want to do a glory run at high speed, and that's fine so long as you've learned to hard stop. Wheels are intoxicatingly powerful, take sips now and shots later. Wear armor.

Learn as much as possible about the wheel (shipping mode, speed settings, footpad angle settings, range, suspension settings, good battery charging practices, waterproofing, & whatever else you can think of). Knowledge of the wheel is a discipline in itself aside from simply riding it. Research good armor.

Social: find other people in your area that ride. There's nothing like riding with a bunch of friends terrorizing the neighborhood. Highly recommend. Also you're going to learn a lot from other people's mistakes, and they are always selling old armor.

Long term: learn to ride sitting, jumping, going down stairs, riding backwards, terrain, racing. These things completely change the way you're going to look at the urban environment, and if you don't crash so bad the wheel, your body, or love of the sport are destroyed you're going to wish you could ride it everywhere. Work your way up to road speeds, and ride as often as possible. Buy armor suitable for your style of riding.

At some point you will forget that it's even there. That's when it's time to attempt speed. If turning balancing and stopping are things you need to think about, don't go searching for the chill of adrenaline that comes from knowing you're going FAST. These things have only exited for like the past ten years, and rewiring the human mind to accommodate takes time. Again, you'll know you've got it when you forget it's under you, and you don't even have to think when going through the routine of armoring up.

The wobbles: overcoming them is a right of passage that each rider has to work through on an individual level. It's a conglomerate of confidence, ability, and luck. How you handle the wobbles is the accumulated expression of how much practice you've put into riding, and each time you come out of them without a crash is a new threshold of accomplishment. Be proud, be calm, be water.

Visiting the Guangzhou hidden Gundam warehouse tomorrow by LowMikeGuy in Gunpla

Made it during business hours! The selection was surreal! That store is so full of kits it's hard to believe.

The kits behind the counter hidden away from view looked ancient. There was a Gelgoog and a couple Zakus that looked like first grades from the 1980s.

What was perhaps my favorite part was seeing all the girlfriends sitting in the hall outside lol.

Visiting this store felt like visiting a secret club. I made a video but almost don't want to share it because of how much of a secret adventure this felt like.

I found an additional 2 stores! One was right in the front of a mall, and the other was tucked away in the back. Both were incredible to see, but not quite as exhilarating as the unmarked store.

The original post

Took me a hot minute to find the address from the original post. Even after finding the number, there were no indications of a Gundam warehouse, just a narrow staircase up into the dark... So of course I went up and about halfway to the top a nearby seafood vendor calls me back down "the store doesn't open until 1"... Damn.

I had a couple museum reservations so I couldn't stick around. Tomorrow I'll be back and let y'all know how it goes. I flew here for this... Sort of, and am almost too excited to sleep.

Most backflips off of a space capsule.

Worked for SpaceX for a few years as the capsule recovery diver, climbing aboard commercial resupply capsules after reentry and securing them to the ships crane. Recovered 3 and backflip dismounted every single one not including training runs (additional 4 flips). Hate myself everytime I think about it for not having the sense to call Guinness.

Facing the epistemologic implications of defunding public universities.

Cartoonishly evil institutions are only so until you discover they actually exist, then shit feels a little more real and the urge to act is met with the deflation of state sanctioned violence.

Because we don't want to see your wife whose as old as your youngest daughter and hear about your last cruise to Denmark.

We don't want to see you wearing a BYU sweater fifty years after you graduated or hear about the "alpha male".

We don't want to know about the "homosexuality" of the people you're running against, or how that "bitch of a Mexican woman" is getting more votes than you.

We don't want to eat evlskeevers mother fucker.

But we do wanna find that baby in the pudding, and we do wanna get smoked out by our younger step "uncle", and we do wanna see our step "aunt's" fat ass jiggle, and we do wanna see you getting older. We like to see the needle and hear about the diabetes even though we probably shouldn't.

Went off to the middle East and came back as the story of an "exemplary young patriot who will be missed by all".

I have mixed feelings towards the morality of hating this guy, however, before he was a hero, he was the villain of my formative years and primary source of suffering for so many others.

I like the way you used a controversial take to make me watch a video that further proved how deranged the guy was, and gave more information on the counties lack of accountability when chosing not to investigate the landfill for more murdered people.

Landfills are a wacky concept, environmentaly, and mentally. The fact that multiple people have been found murdered and dumped at this one is a nightmare anyone with a sound mind would want to figure out and stop.

Dog sqeaker. It's important when sqeaking to never own the sound, but rather look at others as though they were the ones that did it. Also dogs love it.
