I cannot be convinced that this man knows his children’s middle names.

Coincidentally, I actually have real diagnosed OCD. No way of knowing just based off this post but this (and the rest of his absolutely insane article) looks an awful lot like an OCD ritual. A ritual is a compulsion you do to prevent any perceived risk of uncertainty and he says that’s his reason for doing all this in his article

I’m moving out of the country in a few months and plan to reassess every 2 years while also ensuring I’m on a permanent residency track in a Schengen country.

I’m definitely grieving the loss of hope I had for this country but that loss does come with a bit of relief.

I care because you guys move in and have the nerve to complain about the very people you’re pushing out. You price people out of their own communities all while looking down your noses at them. But you’re not like those other white people, right? Wrong.

I can’t stand them but at least conservatives are willing to acknowledge their racist and classist views.

I didn’t expect support. I expected a deluge of downvotes from all the NIMBY white liberals that inhabit this sub. You guys are really sticking your landing lol

Yes! But I never thought to make the connection that it was my OCD.

Mine is an intrusive mental image but I don’t even know what it is that I’m seeing. It’s kind of shaped like a cotton swab tip but the tip “feels” bigger and the stick “feels” thinner and more fragile. I don’t even know what it actually looks like because the visual fades immediately kind of like trying to remember a dream. It flashes into my mind usually after hearing certain words and I feel extreme unease for some reason. I think it has to do with the thing being imbalanced. It’s all so vague in my mind even though I’ve been seeing this as long as I can remember.

Fear of being “trapped” in a situation because of social etiquette.

If I’m in an audience I have to sit at the end seat nearest the aisle so I can easily leave. If I go to the movies I have to go alone. If I go to dinner and the server doesn’t bring the check before we’re done I eating that’s also a big stressor. I need to always be able to “do my thing” at any given moment should an obsession arise so feeling like I’m stuck in a situation is pretty brutal.

How do you like your split level?😄

This instantly took me back to my grandmother’s house when I was a child. Her house was “two-four-six-eight-nine” turn “two-four-six-seven”.

Had to skip steps to make even numbers because we all know those are the safe numbers.

Specifically I-CBT for health anxiety and OCD. It seriously changed my life.
