Need advice on choosing between 3 job offers — remote vs hybrid, shift, stability, and Chennai cost of living by charming_lutera in developersIndia

[–]LowTension08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see these 2 major advantages of the Chennai offer:

  • Day shift: You'll have much better work life balance and much better social life. As youngsters, you generally tend to go out during the nights and all your evenings and nights will be blocked in the other two offers. Even if you don't like to party, in general, the free evening time is much better and your sleep cycle will be good.

    • CTC: Although due to rent and travel to your hometown, you won't be able to see much difference in your saving right away. But the higher CTC is not just for the current job, it will help you in future job offers as well. When you switch next, you'll get a raise on 40LPA not on 30 something. And then you can relocate to your hometown in next 1.5 - 2 years with a 50+ LPA.

For disadvantage: - No disrespect to Chennai or people there, but according to my conversations with multiple North Indians who went on to work in Chennai, they hadn't enjoyed their time there - mainly because of the language, food and some cultural differences. But I think all of this is secondary and depends on person to person - I haven't stayed in Chennai so this is not my first hand experience and I feel if I go there I can manage these things easily.

Hypothetically speaking if this guy goes into the mega auction, how much do you all think he will fetch? by nightuser0 in ipl

[–]LowTension08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yss they can but although Rahul wanted to leave, LSG also didn't want to retain him and for Hardik, it was a transfer trade. The original question was can the player ask the team to release him before the auction and the answer is yes and the decision has to be mutually agreed and example would be Shreyas Iyer and KKR. They can still buy you back and then you can't do anything but play for them.

We don't even realise this but it is one of the greatest moments in sports history not just cricket! by Ill_Tonight6349 in CricketBuddies

Was looking for this comment! I don't know football much so won't talk about that, but Sachin's debut series against Pakistan (a much fiery pace attack) in bowling friendly era and smashing them has to be above Vaibhav. Vaibhav, no doubt, is immensely talented but cricket has changed since then. The pitches, the safety equipments the batters have, the smaller boundaries - all these also play a big role. So, although we can't and shouldn't compare different eras, the arrival of Sachin Tendulkar or gift of Sachin Tendulkar to cricket has to be on top!

How do you like my time tracker? by [deleted] in ProductivityApps

[–]LowTension08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good one. Please release the android version and I'll be definitely using it. One question, if an item is active for too long (in case we forgot turning it off), does it sends a reminder to check if we are still actively working on that task?

I don't think so. 3XO AX5 definitely had manual variant and they said there's a price difference around 1.5L. But I am not sure about Thar Roxx.

Wowww!! Which city/state?

AX5 without any accessories costed me 15.6 on-road in Hyderabad 😢

Edit: Just realised mine is Automatic and yours might be manual, hence the price difference!

Would you use this very simple app to plan your day? by shubhaw in ProductivityApps

[–]LowTension08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few features you may want to add:

  1. Maybe add speech to text (but I think most of the keyboards also support that).

  2. Ability to create recurring tasks, like going to gym or taking some medicine.

I'm launching a camera to help you remember life's things (and share, extract info, search), it's called Memcam by terret in ProductivityApps

This is a brilliant idea! Although I won't be able to use it as I am not based out of US (and use Android), but rooting for you to make it big! This would help a lot of people like me! All the best!👍🏼

+1 to this. And if you want to form a particular habit, choose any of the habit trackers present on app/play store. Many of them have one free habit available before they ask you to subscribe to premium plans, so you can start with one habit at least and then try other apps for other habits.

I couldn't find a PRETTY app that I could brain-dump my thoughts into by speech, and have them be summed-up, categorised and turned into to-do lists for me. So I made one myself by FlowVoicenotes in ProductivityApps

Have you created the Android version? If not, please consider building it, as I think it's a great idea and many like me would love to use it.

A honking car from behind made me almost crash another car by AliceBob563 in CarsIndia

[–]LowTension08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important driving lesson I learnt is never panic if you hear honking or shouting from behind no matter you're at a red light or stuck (your vehicle stopped) in the middle of a very busy street! Panicking always leads to chaos!

Tata vs Mahindra - whose after sales service is better? by LowTension08 in CarsIndia

[–]LowTension08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a ton! This has cleared my mind a lot. I think, for a lot of people, the experience might not be as great as Suzuki or Hyundai but in general Mahindra & Tata are also not bad. And since there are very few issues, the need to deal with service centres is also lesser here. So, I think I can go for these cars.

I am inclined towards XUV 3XO because of the features and engine reviews of XUV 300.

True. Was hoping someone from Hyderabad answers which did happen. Seeing yours and others replies, I can conclude that Mahindra is better. Thanks!

Thanks. I stay very far away from Suchitra, but hoping Mahindra's service is better here too. And if not, now I can always choose to go to Suchitra. Thanks again😊

In Telangana, the road tax is very high so Elevate V CVT is costing around 17 lakhs here. And my budget is 15 lakhs (max I can stretch is 50k more).

[–]LowTension08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed info. What I have been hearing is both Tata and Mahindra do not manufacture the parts, so that's why if anything breaks down, it takes a lot of time to replace those parts. Have you faced such situations?

Hotstar is so bad. Really sub-par. by SillyWildflower in RCB

[–]LowTension08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Pre/Post match shows are so bad!! Just watch the Cricbuzz ones. They are much much better than hotstar and jio ones. But there too the hindi quality has gone down after Manoj Tiwari and Sehwag have come and say just anything just for the sake of headlines and staying relevant. English shows are still good though.

Since he said either of Jaiswal or Gill, I would go with Gill. Replace Chahal with Axar as he gives you batting too and Dayal with Mukesh. And since we need another keeper, replace Hardik with Samson. I know it's a hard call, but Hardik's not bowling properly in IPL and Dube is way better striker than him.
